I always felt as a player agent that I was handicapped making offers - I have to spend vastly more time negotiating with other GMs so they can sign the players I represent than I spend pursuing the players I want to sign.
This year I'm in an overseer role which might be even worse!

This is becoming interesting. I like the rotation idea. That requires delegating power outside of the circle. An idea that seems to be ignored. I wouldn't employ you as a player agent because I don't trust my league with your judgement.

I know thats true to a few others and myself as well. We would never intentionally ruin the league. And i am sure it would take more than a decision to ruin the entire league. There have been many questionable situations or calls with the current GROUP and their decisions..but the league is still strong. I myself have been co-owner to a league and have simmed two seasons of a league. Never once did I or would I ruin the league asan agent. Yes, sometimes we make questionable calls with our teams. Things factor into that. Even Ian himself has made poor gm decisions. The fact of the matter is that we all should have the opportunity to be part of more than just the GM if other GMs get that privilege. If its not been heard yet- GMS THAT ARE NOT PART OF THE CIRCLE FEEL THREATENED. OUR TEAM AND THE OVERALL LEAGUE FAIRNESS.

Do I want to be a player agent? No. Do I think I would make better decisions on Player Options, yes. I think you ignored JRs comment as a league vote would be more ideal. A small group of people voting on each other players doesn't work well. "I will vote opt in bc I don't want to piss X off and vote against my guy". I believe it is relatively easy to see the right controls aren't in place and many people have voiced their concerns. Whether their concerns are real is another story.

Want to put my opinion out there for the record, not interested in arguing.
I think Eric Gordon was a good decision, there's so much cap space I'm actually pretty confident he'll get more on the market.
Monroe was a good decision too, he had a terrible year IRL I doubt he'd get that money again.
Lma I disagree with. Money is #1 in the NBA. At 33 when he can opt out again I seriously doubt he'll get that huge max, I certainly won't give it to him. That also risks a major injury in the next couple years. Also as people pointed out Denver has been unsuccessful not even making the conference finals. Why would he take less money to go to a team where he doesn't even win?
Thay said I understand the other side of the coin as wall and Harden are sick and both great passers to pair with Lma.
The biggest issue I have with this league isn't Ian or the Tc or the PAs, it's the fucking whining. I've been screwed by PAs multiple times, for example greg Monroe last year, but that's what happens IRL! People get screwed it's a competition. Get the fuck over it. None of you guys could do half as good a job as Ian or the PAs. They do such much work and for free in a league where everyone criticizes them for it.
I'm not going to single out any GMs by name but the people who think they could do a better job LMAOOOOOO. If you can't even run your own teams well how can you expect to run the league well? It's a fucking joke.
Sorry for the long rant but I get pissed when people point out these ridiculous criticisms and risk Ian leaving the league or something. If he or Walt or the other big contributors even quit this league would die, end of story. None of the other jokers, including myself, have nearly the knowledge and capacity to run a league for 1 year, let alone 5.
Please don't leave Ian/PAs I may disagree with your decision but know that the silent majority of this league recognizes the hard work ya'll put in and has no desire for anyone else to run things.
I won't be replying to anything else in this toxic thread just had the get that out there.

The fact still remains that the GROUP, as JR said, made questionable decisions in the past. I don't really think we can used "wrong decisions" to described it because it relies more on on our opinion.
With that, I think that system can be improve and I hope we can consider at least a small tweak.
How about a league vote, through PM, in relegating at least one of the PAs/TCs and then league vote in choosing the successor? I think, that will surely improve the system.

I don't think we need to do all that. I think people didn't understand how vastly opinions differed on this issue. I will propose a rule change moving forward that I think would reduce situations like this.

FYI: Both Alex English and Jeremiah Hill's votes cancelled out. Alex because he's the GM, Jeremiah because he's a PA and not on the Trade Committee - Bryan Colangelo accidentally posted the Player Options thread in the wrong section so Jeremiah got to vote. With or without their votes the tally was tied so I messaged James Kay, Chris Mullin and Coach K and based the decision on their responses. And did Coach K say something like, "well if I vote yes for LMA to stay, will you let Monroe stay?" Because both GMs made shit trades without thinking about the consequences of the player options, and we just let them off the hook for this. Both should have opted out for more money or a better chance at winning, plain and simple.

Lots of shit-throwing Charles, you could make a decent argument the other way for most of those players. One thing you did bring up though that is VERY accurate, and in my opinion needs to change, is player agents voting for their own players. If Alex really did have a vote on whether LMA stays or goes, I do question the validity of the LMA vote especially since it was decided by only one vote. Then make the arguement the other way, and let's see if it goes with what they would do in real life. Something you have to understand here, and I don't just mean you Adam. This is a league where we operate how we think a good GM should operate and under the impression that you can only win 1 of 2 ways, thru the draft, or thru big free agents. Which means, even though the cap is up, I'd rather spend the 90 million on 3 max guys and cheap role players over paying someone like Eric Gordon 12 million a year, which he opted out of. Or Amir Johnson more than 7 million a year, which he opted out of. If these guys opt out because they think they are getting more money, they are crazy. The money will go to the big name guys. And if we can't sign one, we wait till next year. Only an idiot is going to spend more money on guys like Gordon and Johnson. And we don't have any idiots in this league, wait, yeah we do.

It should be a thing though - you can't vote on your own players. Yeah it should be, and it will be, and I suppose it is since we didn't include Alex's vote. How didn't you include Alex's vote? Did he vote? Yes. Was it counted? Yes. It says 5-3, which means, he voted, and it was counted. Its whatever. Is what it is. I just feel the need to say something because Im not going to sit idle while I see stupid shit happening and fucking things up in something that I love doing. I put my 2 cents in.

We have less idiots than the ownership group of the NBA I think. Which is why no one is paying Eric Gordon more than 26 million over the next two years. And no one is paying Amir Johnson more than 14 million over the next 2 years. And that's what matters. Get the money now. If money was the thing for Gordon, then look. He gets paid 26 million over the next 2 seasons, he potentially has 2 healthy seasons in real life and contirbutes to the Pels. In 2 seasons, the cap will be even higher, and then he gets a bigger deal because he didn't play like shit. You have guys this off-season who are going to demand the max contract. Kevin Love, Westbrook, etc. And we have guys that accepted player options, and stayed with their teams, even though they could make more money. Do you see the stupidity in that? Bledsoe would make the max, Favors, LMA, Monroe... And the worst thing about that is that Bledsoe and Monroe, when signing their new contracts in real life, wanted one thing, max money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ffs

I just wanna point out that time when I said no one would get POs in real life and if we did it here it would cause a mess.
And then they didn't in real life, then we did it here anyways and its causing a mess.
I legitimately thought of Gordon as a guy who could get a longer deal at the same money. Now after everyone shit on him it won't happen. But I think Amir gets a way better deal than that. Especially when we saw the importance of good depth in the Finals, both in real life and here.

Chandler Parsons just opt-ed out of a 16 million dollar a year PO to potentially snag a 5/128 or 4/95 year/$ deal. I mean, if guys like Favors, LMA, Bledsoe, etc stayed in their contracts when they could have easily opted out and received the max, are guys like Kevin Love, Westbrook, Kawhi, Butler, not going to take max contracts? Eric Gordon wants more money. Amir Johnson wants more money. But the guys who opt-ed in don't? And the ones who opted in MOST CERTAINLY would have gotten a max deal, look at how much money is out there, so you cannot even start to say they wouldn't.

Asik was bad this year. He probably doesn't get a new contract at all if he opts out. Understatement of the year. Asik has been a trash player for years now. The dumbass may be able to grab offensive rebounds but right after he grabs one he immediately scratches his balls with the ball, resulting in a turnover.
