Wow. GG. Thought we were maybe about to make a second half comeback, but we couldn't pull it off.
But hey, I'll take it. If Durant had to put up 49 to get a 5 point win, were doing something right. Hopefully he slows down though.... KD is too hot!

And look at that. A well rounded team with one star is having much more success than the super teams of the Warriors and possibly the Nuggets.
Don't think the Nuggets ever led their series. against the Thunder.

Don't think the Nuggets ever led their series. against the Thunder. This is actually an interesting point. It's something I've been thinking about recently considering what could happen to my team in the next few days. It could explain the success the Dallas Mavericks have seen for years in D5. They've never had the best roster on paper, but they have nobody to really get in the way of Sim God Dirk. It may not stand up to the test of what's already happened in D5 though: 2015 Champs - Golden State 90 Dwight Howard 86 Pau Gasol 80 Klay Thompson 81 Jamal Crawford 89 Steph Curry 2014 Champs - Portland 86 Tim Duncan 86 LaMarcus Aldridge 84 Luol Deng 81 Manu Ginobili 84 John Wall 2013 Champs - Miami 78 Channing Frye 87 Amare Stoudemire 98 LeBron James 96 Dwyane Wade 86 Steve Nash 2012 Champs - Boston 90 Kevin Garnett 78 Brandon Bass 89 Paul Pierce 84 Ray Allen 87 Rajon Rondo It depends how high your bar is for a super team. It's also cool we've never had a repeat champion.

I think GSW could have repeated but they became greedy with the availability of LBJ which is understandable.

They've never had the best roster on paper, but they have nobody to really get in the way of Sim God Dirk. It may not stand up to the test of what's already happened in D5 though: 2015 Champs - Golden State 90 Dwight Howard - Ultimate defensive big man who can flush it down low when it was given to him. 86 Pau Gasol - Offensive big man who's no slouch on D. 80 Klay Thompson - 3's, stretch the floor, defense. 81 Jamal Crawford - Stretch the floor, can handle the ball when needed and pass, pushing Steph to ultimate 3pt guy. 89 Steph Curry - Ball handler, passer, stretch the floor, very high steal rating, decent D rating by now. 2014 Champs - Portland 86 Tim Duncan - Great scoring when needed, amazing defense, unselfish. 86 LaMarcus Aldridge - Stretch 4, great scorer and great rebounder. 84 Luol Deng - Also (like manu below) a bit of an ultimate all-around do anything guy. 81 Manu Ginobili - Basically, ultimate glue guy, can spread the floor a bit, handle ball when needed, give you 20 when needed. 84 John Wall - Handle the ball, pass, great D. 2013 Champs - Miami 78 Channing Frye - Help spread the floor and I think also had a good block rating at this point. 87 Amare Stoudemire - Incredibly (too) good here. Not amazing on D but his block rating was still really high I believe and offense was great. 98 LeBron James - Amazing...see below. 96 Dwyane Wade - Amazing all around. This team maybe just had too much, we've never seen two 96+ guys together. Nuts. 86 Steve Nash - Great offense, ball handler, can shoot the 3 and spread the floor, but bad D. 2012 Champs - Boston 90 Kevin Garnett - Great all around, defense, offense, rebounding. Could take a back seat if PP and Ray were hot or could handle the load if they weren't. Unselfish. 78 Brandon Bass - "Glue guy", some offensive skill, not much on D but hustle guy. 89 Paul Pierce - Little bit of everything at this point. Post, 3pt, can pass, solid defense. 84 Ray Allen - Shoot, create space. Good passer but not expecting to run the offense, solid defense. 87 Rajon Rondo - Handle the ball, pass, play defense. It depends how high your bar is for a super team. It's also cool we've never had a repeat champion. Fair point, good research. I have some ideas but there is an interesting mix of winners here. I wonder if it's about having clear roles for players? Maybe more about defense than we think? I went through and put in my amateur look on team formation though. Maybe it's more about that. Aside from 2013 Miami, who just, damn. LeBron and Wade at 98 and 96 ratings? Throw in a prime-ish Nash and Prime (rating wise) Amar'e and it's over. But, aside from that dynamic duo (which is maybe sort of what OKC's done to get this far, just not AS good), the teams seem to have a pretty clear roles for the players, and also some really good defensive players. Maybe the Sim doesn't know what to do with your Harden/Wall duo, once it came to the upper level teams? Maybe there wasn't enough defense on your team? Maybe maybe maybe. I don't really know. None of us do. I'm sure there's some sort of formula the game goes through but it's pretty obvious it has some flaws. I DO think having clear roles for players seems to make a difference. Having players who can kind of get out of the way and be "glue guys" seems to make a difference. Having at least one, if not two, players who can really stretch the floor, and on the other side of that, having a low-post presence still seems to matter somewhat. Or at least, to open up the lane for great dribble-drive players. Defense seems to matter. Not sure how much on any of those things, and I'm not sure what other factors matter a whole lot, but those are things I've noticed. Or, get two 96+ rated players and it might just be over, especially with two more 86+ rated players?!

Damn. I know it's gotten him this far, but can't help but wonder if sliding Cousins and Durant down to the 4 & 3 might not have been a good idea. Nerlens, if he's anything in this sim right now, is a pretty good defensive player. Throw Zaza on him, Cousins goes against Ibaka (also good on D but the matchup might be a little better for Cousins), and Durant gets away from Ibaka and goes against Wiggins.
Really, Hornets' defense is a big reason they're winning IMO. Nice work James.

OKC should make adjustments on their line up quick to avood 3-1 deficit.. Ive learned that making adjustments most times screws up chemistry more. Its best to keep what got you there. Win or loss. Both teams making the Finals was a great season either way you look at it. Im sure both gms exceeded or met their goals. I think the Thunder are just not as deep of a team defensively. Durant 4MVP with Championship win or loss. LMAO.
