#4 - A 2012 1st that is not far away and looks to be a mid 20's 1st is VERY different than a 2014 1st from a team that is not locked in to anything other than potential lotto right now. You really see no difference in these two picks?

Stiemsma has gotten better every step of the way so far. He just hasnt had NBA experience yet. 4 years of age really isnt that much and it certainly isnt "vast." You act like Stiemsma is ending his career, when really, he's entering his prime.
And regarding potential, its like beauty, its in the eye of the beholder. I like Stiemsma's potential and want him on my team
4. No, I really dont see a difference between those two picks. You're assuming this pick will be a later pick, but nothing is to say that Nowitzki wont get hurt, and the Mav's just crash and burn the rest of this year, which would make this trade kill the Mav's franchise! What if? What if? What if? My 2014 pick could be anywhere between 1-30, Im betting that it will be in the late teens to 20's. Thats the risk that I am taking. Who are you to decide Im not allowed to take that risk. And stop acting like I dont get anything out of the deal. I get a years worth of service out of two good role players who fit perfectly into my team and I lose 3.5 mil next year. As for Ian, I dont care if the President of the United States said this trade was unfair, I still want to do it, and I should be able to.

Joe I am trying to take you seriously but you don't even know this league's rules!
Dirk can't get hurt, no injuries man, so there's that whole premise blown away.
You get two players who really weren't much better than what you gave away, and that 3.5 million for one year is just not worth much.
P.S. I am a CM, so that's who I am to decide. That's what Ian, the commish of the league, put us here to do, make sure trades are realistic (based on real-life values and just "would this happen IRL"), and to stop unrealistic trades and trades that devalue things like 1st round picks from teams that are not playoff contenders especially.

Please direct me to the post that spells this out for me, because I have honestly never seen it.
And ratings wise, I got the better deal out of that trade. I traded a 70, a 71, and a first for a 71 and a 74. Blindly, that doesnt seem that bad to me. Trades like this happen in the NBA. Its based on how GMs evaluate players. I grade Stiemsma as a first round talent that I take the risk on re-signing. You dont see it that way and thats fine, but its stupid to not let me do what I want with my team after I have clearly put it in a better place than when I started.

The weirdest thing is the discussion about this trade and Pistons trade and seeing a trade like Eres Kanter's one easily passed and my first one with the old Clips GM where i'd give away Carroll's contract + Gerald Henderson for 3 role players rejected... LOL

LOL I would definitely have rejected that Kanter deal btw, that was just before I became a CM...for whatever it's worth anyway.

MIN is a team involved in the trade Hmmmm, there was another MIN trade where he, Bulls and Heat accepted and the trade got passed with only '2' accepts. I think it's okay. If Heat rejects, it's still 2 accepts and 2 rejects, with a 5-member TC, i don't see why don't let him vote in his own trade.

Nah I am not voting on my own trade, that's silly. I'm just accepting the deal as a member of the Trade.
BUT, the reason that other trade went through is b/c Boston's policy has been, if one of the TC are involved, I am pretty sure it only needs 2 votes to pass.

I know we talkin' about practice man, not a game, but that's how a player gets better. Plus, he's 26 year old; which isn't really young for a rookie. Sure, he is a decent D/Rebounding kind of guy, but you act like he is a better than average player. As for Ian, I dont care if the President of the United States said this trade was unfair, I still want to do it, and I should be able to. Obama would totally reject that trade.

So far it's 2 accepts and 1 reject. Miami is getting married on Saturday and is understandably not very active right now so I'll have to base this on what's happened so far. It's a pity we don't have a hardliner like Minnesota here to give his verdict Trade passed. Dallas screwed.
