I think you might be under rating him, though I get he plays on a somewhat bad team. 80

77 is fine for now I think. He can get better later if needed.

20 games is all you need now to get an 80? 75 Adam's opinion is not related to our conservative approach to Hassan. Trust me.

He's the second best scorer on a surprisingly competitive Trailblazers team. He's pretty good for a guy who's been passed around D5 like trade throw in since he was drafted.

A lot of his stats are blotted but respectable.

I drafted CJ and haven't dealt him once. Not saying I knew he would be this good, but I did THINK he could be this good. He's a 78 for now, room to go higher due to current SSS.

OK, I'm bumping this up and probably modifying my vote as well (I'll change that older post). I decided to do this after looking at DeRozan's Stockwatch, shortly after I looked at CJ's stats while assessing a trade. So, anyway. - I'm not saying "DeRozan has this rating so give CJ the same" or whatever. They're different players, one is much more established in the NBA and has done it longer, of course.
- To make the case for McCollum though, I will say this is his 3rd year in the league, but he's been on the Blazers who have been very picky and cautious with their rotations in the past. He also struggled with injuries.
- He was a lotto pick coming out of a small school (Lehigh University - I live w/in an hour of it and had barely heard of it before he was being scouted by the NBA), but he was doing the same things he's doing now when he was in college, so these attributes and skills aren't a huge surprise. We're just witnessing him turning them all into NBA-level attributed and skills.
Moving on...He's shot up this year to playing 35 mpg. He's a huge part of their team, clearly, just based on the # of minutes alone. His FG% has stabilized overall, and he's really improved his mid-range FG% (45% from 10 feet out to the 3pt line - used to shoot around 40% in that range last year). He's also doubled his AST% from 10.3 to 20.6, and he's playing 30% of his minutes at PG, so he's got some PG skills and the Blazers trust him there. The numbers: 20.1 ppg / 3.4 rpg / 4.0 apg / 1.2 spg / 0.3 bpg / 2.2 TO / 43.6% FG / 40.1% 3P / 86.7% FT Now again, I know DeRozan's been doing this longer, but look at his #'s 22.7 ppg / 4.4 rpg / 4.0 apg / 1.0 spg / 0.3 bpg / 2.5 TO / 44.6% FG / 25.0% 3P / 84.2% FT If we pretended for a moment that both players were in the same draft class and both broke out this year, I think overall they're having a pretty similar impact. DeRozan is a bit better rebounder, but also taller and more of a SF in size so that could explain some of it. McCollum counters that with better steal and TO #'s. DeRozan takes FG by 1%, but McCollumtakes FT by 2.5%. Then McCollum dominates on 3PT% in this comparison, by 15.1%. DeRozan scores more but I'm going to chalk that up to usage (28.7 for DeRozan and 26.1 for McCollum) and more shots for DeRozan from the FT line (about 5-6 more per game, so that's the big difference). Still, slashing strength for DeRozan and 3PT strength for McCollu, you could definitely make an argument that they're overall pretty similar in total affect on the game. But, again, I'm not asking for an 84-86 on McCollum. I am asking for a bit higher rating than many people gave him, because remember, he's shown these skills all along (his career 3PT% in 3 seasons is 39.4) from college through the pros at different points. My 78 was low, though I did case it with a "if he does it longer, I'll go higher" and I'd stand by that. I just think it's still too low, and he still has room to go up into that 84-86 range that DeRozan is hanging around in, if he does it longer. My new vote is an 81. 20 - 3 - 4 + 1 steal, 40% from 3, 87% from the line. If he keeps it up (and who knows, improves any more?), I'll go higher. Thanks for reading :-)

If DeMar's 3pt % was the same he'd be averaging 30 points per game giving Steph a run for his money for MVP. If anything this is an arguement for both DeMar and CJ. I'm gonna stick with my vote on both as it looks like they are both getting a good boost anyways.

Right now he's playing like an 83 or something, but trying to be conservative I'd go with:
