I think this trade is hilarious. Of all the people on the Kings, why trade away Westbrook and not Lillard? If you plan to run the tank route, Lillard will get you more in a trade because of his contract. You have BRs on Westbrook, he is on a one year contract, no amount of prospects you get in return will be worth Westbrook. How can we let a new GM come into the league and just trade away his star player? I don't think that we should allow this just based on that fact alone. Imagine if Kevin came in and traded away Durant, or someone came in for Glenn and traded away Anthony Davis. Westbrook is one of the top 8 players in this league. I don't see how in the world we allow this to happen. It isn't just bad for the teams involved, it is bad for the league. Not to mention, the value the Kings get is just laughable. The prospects are basically shit, but the picks are important. The Kings should get better prospects in return to go along with their pick. It is Russell Westbrook for Christ's sake. I don't see how this trade passes. Like what I've said it'll be best for him to keep Lillard. I think that he won't have any problem in trying to re-sign him. Also, Don't try to compare Erving's situation with the situation of Kevin and Glenn. They are in a much better position. I agree the he could have gotten more for Westbrook but I also understand Ian not wanting to give up more since Westbrook has an expiring contract. I don't know man, it's just so complicated.

Not sure what the status of this is with Ian on the fence, but I'll put in a reject. I get why this trade made it this far, but it's just not enough for Westbrook.

I'll repeat what I said earlier, this might be a bad trade for both teams overall.
I'll add - Reject

Let me get this straight, there were 12 BR situations this year. 11 of them returned yet you decide to focus on the one case where the player left?
Detroit literally had JR Smith as their best player, and was trying to deal him at the time for cap space to at best, to MAYBE get a player about as good. The Kings have Damian Lillard, and about 28m more to add players, take on some contracts. You literally have the whole year to try to add guys.
Not my place to teach you how to run your team, but I think you're learning the wrong lesson here.

I think I will personally put this trade out of its misery and reject it myself. My advice to Julius Erving and the Kings: wait a year, re-sign Westbrook, then he's worth about a million times more than he is now. If you're looking to rebuild do it with a six-year-contract Russell Westbrook, kitty petting, triple-double making, baby kissing, corporate rock whore on your books to trade away. You'll get an amazing head start.

This trade still blows my mind. Ian is a fucking Magician. I get the feeling other GMs don't put as much effort into negotiating as I do. D5 is like my #1 hobby and passion, so I suppose I treat it like a bloody job, no expense spared when it comes to my team. I know a lot of GMs do go to the same lengths, but if everyone put as much planning and hard work into their teams I'm sure they'd do just as well (and there'd be almost as much outrage when they posted trades, aha)!

That's a generous, wise decision and some good advice for the Kings to rebuild, Ian. Part of the reason why you are an awesome commish.
