We accept, we get two seconds and a role player that expires after this year (wink wink) for a nothing, pretty much just cap space. We should have plenty of cap space remaining after the deal to acquire the guys we want.

Has this type of deal happened before in D5? It's not legal in the NBA. When they want to trade something for nothing they do top 55 protected 2nd rounder or the draft rights to some nobody. But each team has to get something.
No real issue from me though. If Ian decides that this type of move is ok then I accept.

We don't have the ability to trade cash, but they can do that in the NBA I believe? If this doesn't work we can figure something out.

This is a weird one. It all depends on the implications of allowing this to happen.
In this deal it's clear that BKN wants to shed salary and is willing to give picks to make it happen.
I suppose until we come across anything really odd with an occurrence like this, I'll allow it.
I accept.

A few months ago, Adam tried to give me just Jordan Hill straight up but was told he had to give something in return...

Maybe, Ian was busy and you re-posted the trade before he had the chance to say something about it? Seriously, why are you bringing old stuff if he just said it is fine?, lol.

I'm bringing it up because it's a rule that I felt my trade was expected to be upheld to and I feel it's relevant to the topic at hand. If anything, this will help clear up a misunderstanding between GMs, who didn't know this was possible. I'm also bringing it up because as a member of this forum, I can post whatever the fuck I want.

Agree with Spike on this one. Give something of value and change the rule afterwards - makes sense and it is fair.

I'm going to reject, I do remember the trade Spike brought up and feel we should rule the same way here.
It's the same way IRL - Teams often send conditional 2nds or draft rights from old picks to circumvent it.

or maybe, they could have asked Ian back then (via pm or by tagging him or quotting him in the thread) to see if bryan was right or not.

FTR, I think Orlando should need to give SOMETHING here, but I'm just following the lead of our fearless leader and comrade, Ian Noble.

I followed Ian's lead as far as "is this type of trade even allowed?" he said it was, so that's why I voted to accept b/c I think the value is fine in this trade. He gets 2nds to take on salary.

Ian just said it was allowed, so..... I'll let him figure that out. These are the types of things that fall solely under his purview until/unless he asks for help and/or opinions.

I feel like he probably would have done the same thing in that other trade if you pmed him, tagged him or quoted him. so by using your same logic (ian is busy and he overlooked that part of the trade), he could have just as likely forgotten about the Jordan Hill trade....ergo me bringing this to his attention and not the almighty sam bowie. i will stop commenting now and forever regarding why i needed to make the original post bc as aforementioned, i dont have to explain shit to you about why im posting what.
