John Wall is going back to Portland. After the resigning of his teammate and friend LaMarcus Aldridge, John Wall wanted to rejoin his team. John Wall feels that if Portland is able to win again he will stay for the long term but just like LaMarcus Aldridge, John Wall has a player option in the 2nd year of his contract if it does not go well.
John Wall would like to thank all the teams who offered for his services but he wanted to return back.
2015/16 - $22,632,000 2016/17 - $24,668,880 - Player Option 2017/18 - $26,889,079 2018/19 - $29,309,096 2019/20 - $31,946,914 2020/21 - $35,461,074
Total: $170,907,043

Welcome back John! Very relieved that my two stars decided to return. The player options could face me with the same same dilemma next year though... I'll have a year to tweak my roster though

I'm guessing I came second in the bidding for John Wall also?

Other GMs need to stop offering these bullshit Player Options. You are going to over saturate the market with players next season.

It will mean more fun Or more chaos? haha Its the same reason all these stars took regular deals this offseason. If they all opt out for next season then they go into a market that has twice as many players (Because if they all opt out for next season thats how many there will be.) Then they lose all bargaining power. They would end up making the same amount of money as they are gonna get anyways. Only the very best players will get these super max deals. Unlike now where everyone with even a sliver of being awesome gets the max.

So while you guys are all slapping dicks to try and resign Wall, LaMarcus, and Cousins and Milsap and all the other randoms (Apparently Robert fucking Covington has the nerve to ask for a player option) to 35 million dollar contracts Vlade is gonna end up getting Durant and LBJ for basically the same price.

And someone has the stupidity to offer that to Covington apparently.

And, actually the FA class next season is not as deep as this year. I do believe the players in real life are more basketball minded than business minded unlike here in D5.

I agree. In D5 most of the player demand to have a player option in 2016-2017 season. Player option is so trending.

Having 10-15 allstars available in free agency is a bad thing. Especially when a lot aren't even gonna have Bird Rights. Also to Detroit, don't offer a stupid player option. No one I've talked to has started off with those offers. Just don't offer the player option. They can't accept what they don't get offered.

Many of the player options are at the demand of the Player Agents. They are keeping their players options open for when the cap jumps up.

What are they gonna do leave Cousins and Wall unsigned? With so many poeple offering contracts, player agents have ALL the leverage in this league. It is basically impossible to actually negotiate a contract for a top player... you are essentially just told what the player wants and can either accept or lose out

You cannot run the market the way you want it to be. A market of demand and supply will never go wrong because there is no perfect market.
And we think differently than the nba gms.

The argument for the player options makes sense, but you also have to offer it to them to retain your players. What am I suppose to do, not offer Cousins a player option next year and lose him to another team that did? You're logic makes sense, but reality is far away. Also, if you think the player agent will let Lebron and Durant go to the same team, you're high. I think a lot of people would leave D5 if that was allowed. Furthermore, Westbrook is going to leave the Kings next year due to the Lilliard situation. And if the player agent falls for a stupid ass comment like, "We guarantee Westbrook the starting PG spot and we will move Lilliard to SG", then there should be a riot.

IMO Westbrook would be a better SG... but he believes he is a PG. I think having two PG really hurts the kings in the sim anyway, he would be wise to trade one of them (westbrook) for a landfall of value

How do you figure he is a better SG? His shot is subpar and he gets almost all his points from the elbow or driving the lane. We also have to take real life situations into play. We can't make assumptions and say that he would be a better SG when he doesn't play it irl.

You weren't in the league then but everyone should have left when GS signed Pau Gasol and resigned Stephen Curry. It's called hyperbole dude; I will probably end up with Lebron or Durant and someone like Klay Thompson/Jimmy Butler/Kawhi Leonard/Al Jefferson/Al Horford/Pau Milsap...that works for me.

Either way the contracts were supposed to be realistic, its why we were waiting to see what real life players do in the first place.

I love the confidence Vlade!
You might have a chance at Lebron and/or Durant next offseason, but you've also got to resign Westbrook too.
If you can manage to sign all 3 of those guys you are a better GM than Pat Riley!
