?! That's why he is so effective because he doesn't go in the paint. When you have two great slashers on your team (Kylie and LBJ) it is literally retarded to have a post player playing the 4. I don't agree with you but okay, fine, for the sake of argument lets assume you want a "stretch 4" to space the floor. I contend that it does not matter with Lebron because Lebron can ACTUALLY play the 4, unlike guys like Durant, Harden, Westbrook, etc., and you can put in another guard. To this point, what is the difference functionally between these two line ups? I will denote the shooters in order to illustrate this point. PG: Irving SG: Smith (shooter)
SF: Shumpert (shooter)PF: Lebron C: Muzgov/Thompson OR PG: Irving SG: Smith/Shumpert (shooter)SF: Lebron PF: Love (shooter)C: Muzgov/Thompson The difference is in the match ups on Lebron. Who would you rather be trying to box out Lebron, draymond Greene or Harrison Barnes? They are going to miss KLove hard in the finals. It's the size difference, do you want a 4 clogging the paint or a 3 who doesn't belong under the basket and Lebron can shoot over with ease... There is a reason they do it the way they do.

Of course it's all about match ups and it's different for each team they face but in general a teams PF will have a better chance defending Lebron in the paint then a SF. KLove forces them to put an undersized guy on Lebron.

I am not so worried about Barnes or Green, but what if we changed the team? Would you rather have Jimmy Butler or Pau Gasol guarding Lebron? How about Carroll or Milsap? Griffin or Barnes? Duncan or Kawhi? Lol, you aren't answering my question; I gave you the premise that you DO NOT want the four clogging the line. With that said, however, I would rather put LeBron at the 4 and play an extra guard because Love sucks so bad on defense. Therefore, I do not see a use for Love.

Ok you're right Kevin love sucks and is useless

The gasol butler thing is my whole damn point lol. Having Lebron play the 3 is better because most teams 3s will have more trouble guarding Lebron than the 4... Taking most teams best defensive player out of the paint is what KLove does. But whatever, I don't understand how you don't understand.

Let me get this straight; you think Pau Gasol could do a better job guarding Lebron than Jimmy Butler?

Let me get this straight; you think Pau Gasol could do a better job guarding Lebron than Jimmy Butler? Nah I misspoke, that team is an exception to the rule. Gasol has the worst mental ability to defend the switch of anyone I've ever seen and jimmy butler is a god at defense. Most teams however their 4 would guard Lebron better than their 2-3. If the cave played the Bulls I'm sure Lebron would spend some time at the 4, but Kevin love would also have a pretty good game too

I think you get my point.

I'm done arguing you can nitpick 4-5 players that play the 4 and aren't shooters that are worse defenders than the sf but that still doesn't make you right

And either way your point only has some merit because you're talking about Lebron. On ANY OTHER TEAM a stretch 4 like Kevin love is invaluable because most people's 3s aren't Lebron james. Most 3s look like tyreke Evans or MKG, and you NEED a stretch 4 for them to be effective offensively. I didn't like the Kevin love trade to Cleveland for this very reason. It was superfluous, but it doesn't make KLove a shitty player it just means his skill set is redundant because the team has another stretch 4 (Lebron). Kevin love on any other team is a huge asset

If your argument is KLove sucks because Lebron would be better at that position then your argument is super shitty.
You're also crazy if you'd rather have JR smith on the floor instead of Kevin love.

I think my argument is too complex for your 12 year old head, so let me break it down for you. 1. I would rather have Tristian Thompson than Kevin Love, period end of statement. 2. Even in regard to "stretching the floor," I would rather play Shumpert or JR over Love because they are better shooters, play better defense, and do more than just stand there. 3. Furthermore, Lebron at the 4 creates WAY more match up problems than Love's stretching ability. Conclusion: Either way you go, traditional or with an emphasis on stretching the floor, CLEVELAND is better without Kevin Love. Maybe he would do well on another team, I don't know, but he sucks for Cleveland.

I agreed he isn't a good fit in Cleveland awhile ago. And KLove has proven that he is good on another team, btw.

For instance, Lebron would NEVER be a bad fit for a team because of his skill level. Furthermore, I think it's debatable whether Love sucks in general or just on the Cavs but the latter premise constitutes a fact.

I'm pretty sure 30/30 NBA GMs would pick Kevin Love over JR smith, which was your whole argument.
