One of the main contentions for not raising him higher when we previously adjusted his rating last year was that we needed to see him perform at that level longer, and stay healthy.
Well, it's been about a calendar year, and I figured I'd check in and see everyone's thoughts on the matter.
45.6% from the field and 34.5% from 3, also he is taking about the same amount of attempts as last season, the numbers are only slightly lower compared to what he finished with last season which were 47.5% from the field and 35.7% from 3.
17.3 PPG, compared to 17.7 last season, 6.0 Assists this year compared to 5.5 last season, and 5.5 RPG compared to 4.7 last season.
My main point here is not that he has gotten better from last season to this season. He has actually stayed the same. My main point here is that last season, we wanted to see him do it longer, and he has. So I feel that is worthy of an increase.
This is the same way it goes for lots of guys, we say we want to see them do it longer, then they do it longer, and they get the increase.
Also, Bledsoe had to deal with 3 PG's, including himself, to start the season, then Dragic left, and then Thomas, all in about 2 days. The Suns then acquired Knight who has been hurt as of late.
Anyways, I think mini-LeBron should be a 84, what say you, D5?

82. He's fine where he is. He's not a great playmaker or three point shooter. That hurts when you're a starting point guard.

82. He's fine where he is. He's not a great playmaker or three point shooter. That hurts when you're a starting point guard. I wouldnt call him a PG, I think Dragic was more of the PG when the two were together. And with Knight in the mix, I'm not sure who the PG with be. I think the Suns like having 2 scoring guards who can get to the rim with floor spreaders like Green and Morris. Should be interesting to see what happens this off-season with Green and Tucker most likely leaving. Hornacech doesn't seem to be this "big ego minded" coach like D'Antoni, who wouldn't change his system to fit his lineup. So imagine a universe where they don't sign Knight and instead sign a creator, Warren slides into the 3, with Morris and Len at the 4,5. You'd then have Bledsoe and Warren penetrating and moving without the ball, what they both do very very well and a creating PG and a stretch 4. I like that lineup. But the problem is that the Suns will most likely re-sign Knight and leave them without a true creator, the good thing is that Bledsoe and Warren move well without the ball and can get to the rim and make their own shot. They will just be without a real floor general and playmaker. Should be interesting to watch this off-season with them. IIRC they also have a decent amount of cap space. I also think the days of a real playmaking, Tony Parker type PG are gone and done with and now we just have super athletic 6'5 ball handlers who can just get to the rim. That seems like the META coming out of the collegiate ranks and is filling the NBA. The real thing that makes an athletic 6'5 athletic guard is the system the coach runs, such as the Hawks and Spurs. And what would have been the system had LeBron not came to Cleveland. Big time, motion offenses turn the athletic scoring guard into a creator. The coach just needs to make his players buy in. And we can't really count the pick and roll as a creation of offense, as every team runs that. The down screens and ball reversal is what creates these magnificent offenses and makes the athletic guard into a creator.
