Jermaine has decided to play the remainder of this season with the Toronto Raptors. Details of the contract: Year 1: $5,000,000 (MLE) Jermaine had some very great offers from some of the other top 5 teams in the league, and this was a tough choice. In the end, the money was the same, no one offering more than the MLE. Jermaine also decided he only wanted to commit to one season, so any additional years would have been declined or changed out of the offer. In the end, the Raptors had no real backup center anywhere near Jermaine's talent level, and even their backup PF is not as talented as Mr. O'Neal. We also see potential opportunity to start or at least play with starters, with players like Lamar Odom being flexible and able to slide down to SF, opening up PF & C for Jermaine and Varejao, for example. Playing with Steve Nash, under a GM who has shown himself to be very committed to building a winner for at least this year...it was all just right for Jermaine. Thank you to the other teams who offered!

We are excited to bring on Jermaine O'neal for his second run in Toronto. JO will be a key contributor to our team as he add in experience and dept to a roster that is lacking bigs.

Wow. Toronto trades Roy Hibbert to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal. Im betting they wished they had not of done that one. He would solve their inside problem.

No point looking back on the past, Hibbert imo really is not that good despite his play thus far. Jo in Toronto was really not that bad, most fans loved the guy. It just did not workout between him and bosh. However now we have a center that was a lottery pick which has more potential than Hibbert then when he was drafted.
