Brooklyn Nets trade:85 Josh Smith - $19,980,000 - $22,177,880 - $24,617,358 - $27,325,267 Denver Nuggets trade:70 Trevor Booker - $1,000,000 Brendan Haywood's contract - $9,798,000 - $10,522,500 Shannon Brown's contract - $5,000,000 - $5,000,000 Fab Melo's contract - $490,180 DEN 2016 2nd round pick DEN 2017 2nd round pick Total: $16,288,180
I accept. I had originally planned to wait until next year to trade the massive contracts of Haywood and Brown, but this is the kind of deal I would have looked for anyway. Josh Smith's contract is absolutely insane, and he is a pretty big headcase. But at the same time he's extremely talented and was a borderline all-star in Atlanta for many years. Since I basically get him for free I don't mind taking the chance. Plus, if it doesn't work out then I only have to pay him the remaining $94 million in his contract. No big deal.

I made a new thread for the actual trade. The other one has more than 20 posts that don't actually discuss the trade. Josh hasn't even accepted yet.

By itself, it seems like a trade that a contending team would make in real life, if Josh Smith was just a talented player and not a cancer like he is with his IRL personality issues. I would accept it if I was both teams.

Makes sense for both teams, though I'm really disappointed that I won't get to see Josh write about the escapades of Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith.
Accept.

I'll accept. I really wish Barber was stuck with this behemoth of a contract that he brought into the league as Smith's PA though.
Oh well, Alex helping people out.

Was I his PA? I know I signed the Bropez one, but I thought someone else did this one

I gotta say, I almost think Barber should have to GIVE more with Josh Smith to get rid of him, this is much too easy.

Ian Noble I have a question. Can I start running a B team that competes in the Eastern Conference? My projected bench after all these trades is: Nikola Pekovic Josh Smith James Johnson Corey Brewer Mario Chalmers I could definitely make the playoffs with that lineup in the East

I really hope my Boston rebuild pays dividends eventually, but even if it does I'm only one team. I'd really like to see parity restored.
