I accept this trade because I want to rebuild this season. The contract of J Johnson is the right fit for me as I already dont have my 2016 1st round pick so I need to contend next season. I also got a lot of young players that have good potentials. I hate that I loss Amir but I know he will demand alot of money in the offseason so I more happier to get two seasoned players that will be less money this offseason.

I accept. I hate watching my team lose. We didn't plan on going into tank mode. This trade helps us build to hopefully climb the Eastern Conference standings.
With this trade we get a starting point guard and a starting center. We do lose the the cap flexibility that Joe Johnson offered in his 2 year we expiring. We are more locked up in Deron's contract, but he should be better for the team. I also lose a lot of my young guys. Garnett can step in and play center. Miles is doing ok this season, but I can replace him with Amir Johnson. Really don't like losing Clarkson, because I think he'll turn into a solid player for the Lakers. Overall this trade helps me now and Cleveland in the future.

Its because Indiana is trading for two guys who are rated good but are set for 5-10 point decreases in the very near future.
