Someone do an average of San Antonio's team's age after this trade. I bet it sets some records.

JR just gave up his 2017 first to get these players. It logically makes no sense at all. He said he was making a playoff push, and going to try to resign Iguadola and Thomas.

If this trade goes through, the average age of the Spurs would set a new NBA record at 32.4. Beating last season's real life Knicks who were an average age of 31.3.
3 players 37 or older.

I'm having deja vu here. After canceling out the pieces traded back this is the result of your two trades:
83 Shawn Marion 79 Amare Stoudemire 82 Antawn Jamison 79 Shane Battier 78 Vince Carter
for
79 Trevor Ariza 74 Nick Young 83 Jason Terry 76 Andris Biedrins 78 Brandon Rush Josh Childress' Contract Nolan Smith's contract SAS 2017 1st round pick
It's pretty sweet deal for the Spurs if JR can figure out how to build a time machine.
Honestly JR, Iguodala and Jordan Hill were the only valuable pieces you got from the first trade and you are giving them back for a bunch of expiring contracts? You've just given away your 1st round pick in 2017 while taking on 29 million in salary from Amare and Antawn Jamison and you got nothing worthwhile in return. What are you doing?

The Spurs accept. We realize the situation of the last few trades. We do want to make a playoff run but after making the last trade we realized that Iggy was not Going to work out and he would leave after the season either way if we didn't make the playoffs. Even if we did he did not play well with my guys and we decided to trade him and get a little more depth to enjoy the rest of the season. We want to be the oldest D5 team ever to get into the playoffs. Our future doesn't look great pick wise, but if I build it they will still sign with us. Never wanted Hill in the trade that Billy posted that got accepted. I personally don't like him nor thought he was worth 5 mil.

I'll try and move players for cap to keep Thomas and Iggy.

I'll try and move players for cap to keep Thomas and Iggy. Exactly. You can hit up many of the gms. I have been offering the players that had me in the playoff picture but with pending decreases and other GMs offering heavily Me getting the cap needed before the trade deadline was not going to work. I've actually inquired about these players before they got to Brooklyn. Before my last trade. It just happens that he's been snagging many of the players I've liked from several gms. Like I said all along I just want to get into the playoffs this season. It was a team goal. Since acquiring Iggy my team has lost as many if not more games than we did all of last month. Of course us losing didn't help my case of trying to offer players on 2 year contracts that were helping us win for cap space.

HAVE TO reject. You need to get your 1st back if you move Iggy & Hill right back to Billy.
JR I'm becoming more and more convinced you are trolling us all and are purposely ruining that team.
Honestly, from Duncan/Parker/Manu/Kawhi!/Splitter and a slew of solid role players to what you have now is the worst job I have ever seen. You should at least have a plethora of picks if you were going to move/lose guys like that, but instead you've thrown your picks around the league and helped other teams who are already good become even better.
I'm sorry, but I am completely baffled at this transformation.

So you are trading Iggy because you can't keep him? For a bunch of guys you can't keep? And giving up a guy who IS getting a boost that you have for 3 years?

I believe Chris Mullin summed up this trade pretty effectively already.
