Denver Nuggets trade:
77 JaVale McGee - $2,462,400 - $3,494,145 76 Arron Afflalo - $7,750,000 - $7,750,000 - $7,750,000 - $7,750,000 - $7,937,500 79 Tyrus Thomas - $7,305,785 - $8,000,000 - $8,694,215 - $9,388,429 72 Matt Bonner - $3,365,000 - $3,680,000 - $3,995,000
Total: $20,883,185
Memphis Grizzlies trade:
83 Rudy Gay - $15,032,144 - $16,460,538 - $17,888,931 - $19,317,325 79 Samuel Dalembert - $7,000,000 - $6,698,656 76 Marreese Speights - $2,721,255 - $3,823,363
Total: $24,753,399
I accept. With this trade I will probably be finished with any major trades for a while. I will have put together a very good young core of Lawson, Iggy, Gay and Faried with a bunch of other young prospects that can stay together for a while. I was hoping to get a low/mid 80s center for McGee but Dalembert is good enough. The only thing I don't like about this trade is that it costs me about 4 million dollars that I was going to use when regular season free agency started but I like this trade too much.

I accept, both teams are getting a good deal. I just hope the $4million difference between the salaries or anything elese, will stop this trade. I'm getting two good players in JaVale and Affalo, and he's getting a great player in Rudy Gay, and a center who can block shots and rebound. I might, be done with trading as well after this.

What's the main goal for Grizzlies this season? You traded Randolph, Gasol, Gay and Conley for good players, but no stars...

I was going to build around Rudy, but now i got Kevin Martin, and I like McGee better than Gay. Rudy isn't much of a three point shooter, and I'm not sold on Mike Conley. Calderon is a better passer than Conley.

Puzzling move by Memphis to say the least, with the acquisitions of Calderon, Martin, Boozer & Dalembert I'd assume you'd be trying to win now, trading the cornerstone of your franchise and the player your franchise gave the max contract a few seasons ago would say otherwise. I'm going to wait to hear from the rest of the TC before I make a final decision.

It's a good trade IMO, but it's at least weird to see the 4 best players of Grizzlies getting traded in the beggining of the season like that

This trade is a good imo, its just the backlash from previous moves that brings the negativity to this move. I do agree with the Bobcats, Gasol,Zbo, all gone.

It's a good trade IMO, but it's at least weird to see the 4 best players of Grizzlies getting traded in the beggining of the season like that Well it is a sim league. If passed this will be my fifth trade in two days and I will have completely revamped my team. I do understand the comments here though. I think the key here though depends on how good you think JaVale McGee is going to be. I also think some of the players on Memphis should have higher ratings. Calderon for example is only a 75 when he is a top 5 playmaker in the league, he should probably be about an 80 or something and I think that makes it look as though the Grizzlies are worse than they are.

Memphis has (arguably) gotten worse at every position through trades.
Mcgee is alright, but he is by no means someone for whom you trade your best player. Dalembert has a higher rating and they are both going to expire after next season anyway. It might be better just to stick with Dalembert this year and then leverage him as a functional center with a great expiring contract. If McGee does pan out, then you're going to have to pay through the ass to resign him anyway. IMO, if you wanted a good center prospect, Gasol would have been a much better choice than McGee.
Memphis is also taking on the horrible contracts of Afflalo and Thomas, potentially crippling the team for the foreseeable future. Unless Memphis can convince me that he actually has a plan for this team, I'm afraid I must reject.

I think I am going to have to reject too. Tyrus Thomas hasn't produced like he should in years, and he has a horrible contract. Nobody even knew who McGee was until he got traded to Denver. He makes stupid, boneheaded plays like getting back on defense when his team has the ball. The only time he was on ESPN was on not top plays. He's a good shot blocker and rebounder but that's about it. Afflalo is ok but he also has a horrible contract. And Bonner is just trash thrown in there for salary. And you trade all of that for your franchise player?? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Ah well, it would have been awesome hade this trade gone through. I wasn't expecting it to though and to be honest if I was on the trade committee I would have rejected this trade also. So if Sam wants to back out of it then I am cool with it.

Not to be a dick, but isn't there a two trades per week rule? I don't know if you consider the Mavs-Nuggets trade to count toward the 2 trades for this week, but even if not, he Denver should at least be done dealing for this week.

Misread the rule, apparently applies to New GMs. but hey, if a rule was set, why be pissy when it should apply?

Yeah that was a rule back in the old D5 and I think it is written somewhere here too. I don't ever remember it being enforced, kinda like how 3 team trades are allowed but not 4 team trades. I dunno, if they are good deals I dont really see why there should be a limit. Plus there are probably three or four other teams that have broken this rule too, I know the Raptors have made a lot of trades, his team is completely different. It's not like I have been spamming the trade section. The league just restarted, we gotta break in our teams and make them our own!

No need to get defensive. It's just that if there was indeed a limit, I'd be curious as to why others were exceeding. And the sentence that struck me was when you mentioned that you had done 5 deals in 2 days. I believe the Raptors at least did some of those deals in the past week. But that was when I was under the impression that there was a limit.

Not getting deffensive at all. Tone doesn't really come through in text but I'm not making a thing out of this. Just giving my two cents. It's funny because you broke the rule too with 3 trades in two days. So how do you like them apples!?

My trade with the Raptors was on May 13 by my watch, pretty much still last week. but then, I don't know whether you see Sunday or Monday as the first day of the week.

I was under the impression that the two trades only apply to new gms replacing an old one. As for me yes I did break the rule if its in fact 2 trades per a week. Its just my style, I come in aggressive then i slow down considerably after my vision is in place. I did make a lot of moves, however i do feel each move improved my team. I do have a vision in tact and that's what each of my move is base on. You will not see Eric Gordon or Steve Nash leaving Toronto anytime soon unless the deal improves my team significantly.
On a side note I am a die hard raptors fan, so i wanted to trade Jose/Andrea with a passion.

Losing Demar did hurt, but i would be a fool to pass up on Eric Gordon.
