Current Rating: 81 Asking for: 85
I think Roy is a top 5 center in the NBA, i think most of you would agree. He deserve an increase in his rating from a 81 (which in this game Camby is near him.. lol). 86 is putting him in the same rating class as Andrew Bynum and timmy d which i do not think he's there as yet, (but i do think he's better than Amar'e Stoudemire who is a 87), but 85 is perfect since its right near those guys.
I dont really need to talk about Roy's game as much since all of you watch basketball and know his capability. In the past two years Roy has been improving his inside game and also his outside game. Posting 2.6 blocks a game this year, FT % went up a bit. two years he was able to set new marks on REB, Points, FG% (13 points, 8.8 REB, 49.7% FG).
Even though he did not have a stellar year last year i still feel an increase in rating is good for Roy.

Can't say I agree. I think he's better off staying at 81 at the moment considering that that's where the Pekovics and Asiks are likely to end up. I think that he could end up an 85 next year, but after last season - I don't think so.
To be fair, 81 does put him around guys like Nene, Marc Gasol, and Tyson Chandler.

Yea I think he's fine at 81 for now. He's one of the best post defenders in the NBA but he's pretty limited offensively.

Hibbert stepped it up in the playoffs, but he was pretty god-awful for most of the regular season (shooting less than 45% as a 7 footer). I think the biggest problem is that he has been in the league for 5 years now and hasn't really improved. He's a good defender, but he isn't any better than Chandler, Ibaka, Noah, McGee, etc. and none of them are rated an 85.
He got a lot of hype since the Pacers did well in the playoffs, but I don't think that really warrants an increase for Hibbert just yet. 81.

i agree to an extent that it puts in him the same spot as Gasol but i would rather have Hibbert than Chanlder and Nene. Last season wasnt the strogest season, the year before is what help made Roy who is is now imo. He struggled last season but it wasnt by much. He was a key part for the pacers this year in there playoff run and he's still pretty young. I think he's only 26 - 27

I will say that his offense looked GREAT in the playoffs against Miami, and I agree with Toronto that he should be more on the Marc Gasol level than Chandler/Nene/Camby level. Thus, I vote to increase him to an 83.

Stay at 81. I agree with what Josh Barber said.

Yea the Playoffs were great but you can't ignore the regular season...then you have past seasons to look at, and it's just not quite time to raise him until he starts dominating the regular season IMO.
81 is a good big man rating, the best bigs in this league are at like 89/90 (not 95+ like the PG/SG/SF crop).

You wanna know honestly Billy? My ass is crazy busy and I don't have time for this dammit.
Here's part of it - Hibbert has played between 25 and 30 mpg over the last 4 seasons.
His FG% has been between 44.8 and 49.7, never above 50% for a big man, pretty bad.
Rebounds between 5.7 and 8.8, which is not too bad considering his mpg. He should be rated well here, probably high 80's, not sure what he is though.
Assists have been stagnant, 1.4 to 2 a game.
Steals have been stagnant, .5 or so a game for the past 4 years.
Blocks have been the only area he's shown actual improvement, going from 1.6, to 1.8 to 2.0 to 2.6.
FT% has been between 71 and 75% every year as well.
To sum it up, to this point, he's shown little ability to really improve his game, other than block more shots little by little over 4 years. But the guy is tall as hell and shouldn't have to do that much to block shots.
That's why I said he needs to show more in the regular season.
Batum is simply a different case. Over the past 4 years, he's gone from 24 mpg up to 38 mpg.
It's harder to say b/c he's been getting so many more minutes, but the blocks keep going up, the steals keep going up, the rebounds keep going up, the 3pt% has fluctuated, but has hit 40% and not been below 34.5% in that time. The FG% has fluctuated some, mainly this year it was down due to wrist injury, but seemed to be stabilizing around 45% before that, which, for a shooter and slasher, not a big man, is solid. It's not great, like CP3 shooting 50% as a PG, but 45% for how Batum scores is pretty solid.
Basically, to sum it up, Batum has actually shown real potential for greatness in the regular season over longer stretches, Hibbert just pulled a freaking Jerome James this postseason so people got up in arms. It needs to be proven over long stretches, and we can go back 4 years and see Batum's skills developing, and his team trusting him more and more to play more minutes, and now this year, apg shot up from the high 1's to the low 4's. He's actually developing, and he's actually shown big upside, over long periods of time.
Nice try cherry picking but you are just wasting my time, please don't do it again.

Billy, you also know that thread happened a while ago and new information is available?
It's whatever, I'm very sick of people using Batum as a measuring stick for every fucking rating in this league.
Get some new information.

Also two more things.
#1 - I didn't just get to give Batum any rating I wanted. Enough people liked Batum enough that he got the 83 just like anyone else gets a rating boost.
#2 - I will stand by that Batum is better and has shown more than Gallinari and Parsons and should have a better rating.
