You had better offers than this, Aubrey. It wouldn't be so bad if you were trading Deng to conserve some cap space for resigning CP3, but the cap space you save is negligible. An expiring David West for Luol Deng? SMH You consider 13 M+ to be negligible? Besides, I think he wanted to trade Deng because of Jimmy Butler's emergence.

He still won't have enough to resign CP3. He already possesses 6.5 M in cap space, and now should be able to offer around 20 M in the first year after gaining about 13.5 from this trade. I assume he will let West walk; I guess he could re-sign West instead of Paul you never know. Remember, cap space only matters in the first year because you can go over the cap in year 2, year 3, year, etc.

I still don't think he'll be able to resign CP3. There you go editing your posts again! I am really glad you are not a player agent because Chicago remains a good team. Sure, he might find a better suitor and go somewhere else, but there is ALWAYS a chance of that in this league. Personally I like this deal for him, though I wish West, Gasol, or Noah could play SF. However, Chicago needs to make a deal like this so they can re-sign CP3 and am not sure who else offered him a deal. Basically, this is a solid deal for the Bulls.

Now I will criticize the Bull's use of colors in the trade; I mean blue for the Blazers, really!?!?!?

I accept,
I get the Small Forward I need, and being a Bulls fan I know how good of a player Luol is. Chicago gets the cap space to re-sign CP3, and reunites him with West.

I'm surprised this is the best deal Chicago can find to clear up cap space to re-sign CP3. Portland are quietly turning into contenders in this league and this takes them yet another step further.
I accept.

Clearly not a good trade for the Bulls. But a necessary one. I accept.
