Mavericks Trade:
Spencer Hawes (78) - $4,807,050/$4,997,100/$5,117,000 Gerald Green (77) - $2,500,000/$2,750,000/$3,000,000/$3,250,000/$3,500,000 Nate Robinson (78) - $2,500,000/$2,900,000/$3,300,000
Total: $9,807,050
76ers Trade:
Javale McGee (77) - $3,494,145 Maurice Williams (78) - $8,500,000 2013 2nd Round Pick (Bobcats)
Total: $11,994,145
Mavericks accept. First off, most obvious reason, cap. I will most likely be letting Mo-Williams walk after this season. Second, the defensive big that I've been looking for since the start. And Third, to show a little love to a few of my players, Parsons so that he can get to start, and Bayless, so that he may feel less threatened for PT come OSFA - I hope to bring him back long term.

76ers accept. We'll have Spencer Hawes back here in Philly and nice role players in Gerald Green together with Nate Rob who so far, has been great IRL for the Bulls without D-Rose. I think we still have the cap space and now with great role players in landing a max-contract type of player come OSFA. ;D

Every trade Philly makes just dilutes their talent base. And Philly already has $42m in cap space for next season, will have $31m~ish after this trade.
I don't see how you're going to attract free agents when you have noone for them to play with Mr Keller. I think the Mavericks get the best end of this deal in every way.

I get what Ian is saying, I don't think Javale has progressed quite as much as he was to expected this year though, he lost his starting job to Kostas Koufos, enough said. He is still the best player in the trade though and Mo Williams could be the second best player. But none of the three players coming back are bad so I don't think the gap is big enough to reject. I accept.

On top of that a lot of the free agents will likely be re-signing with their current team, like Dwight Howard for example. Hope you are not his player agent because that has yet to be determined.

Interesting trade. Philly gets some decent role players for expiring contracts. I'm not completely sold on the players your getting back, but in a reserve role, it definitely helps depth. From the Mavericks side they get a good center for a playoff push and a good veteran point guard. They also clear up cap space.
Here's something I don't get though...
Why is everybody going hog wild with cap space moves all of a sudden? I get that this offseason has some promising free agents but that does not guarantee you that free agent! A good amount of free agents will probably re-sign with their current teams as it is. I just don't see the logic in trying to obtain 2 max free agents when half the league is also competing against you for those players. I guess it's just difference of GM philosophy. Just seems like you'll be betting against all odds when you can look in other areas to get talent via draft and trades.
Anyways, I'll accept this deal. I'm not in love with it for Philly, but if he feels he needs to add depth at a few positions, then this trade definitely does it.

I never said it was determined. In my opinion I just don't see why Dwight would leave a big market and playing along side Derrick Rose. It's not rocket science to give it a high percentage he stays. I never said it was certain though, just highly probably.

Well Dwight's not only in New York but he's also teamed up with Rose. Definitely doesn't mean that he's for sure staying, but I don't see why he wouldn't.

I never said it was certain though, just highly probably. I don't think the whole "big market" thing should factor into a sim league. We do not control which team our city comes from and it should not matter one bit. While I think New York is a decent destination for Dwight, I don't want the player agent already awarding him to the Knicks. Are you holding out hope Dwight will sign with you? I don't know who WOULDN'T want to play on this young team. Well Dwight's not only in New York but he's also teamed up with Rose. Definitely doesn't mean that he's for sure staying, but I don't see why he wouldn't. Rose may not be the same anymore?

Whhos, just realised I said exactly what Glenn said. I never do read full threads... haha Well Dwight's not only in New York but he's also teamed up with Rose. Definitely doesn't mean that he's for sure staying, but I don't see why he wouldn't. Rose may not be the same anymore? Adrian Peterson did it, why not Rose??

Don't see enough reason to reject, especially with McGee and Mo both able to walk after this season.
Accept.

Just wanted to respond to Glenn, I guess it's not completely wrong to assume that I would go for a max contract, maybe two. It would be wrong however, to assume that that's the only plan I have in mind. But then, OSFA is a long ways from now, so all I can really do is assure you that I intend to make the most of the space I'll have.
But heck, even if by some stroke of bad luck, all this trade does is clear the logjam in my wing positions, I'd be alright with it.
But c'mon, it would pretty damn stupid to not even take a shot at CP3 or D-Will when the main threats (their own teams) are almost out of the running due to cap constraints.
