The thing to me is that we can’t do this for just Jamal Murray. An 84 is fine for his regular season performance (he was just SWed like a month ago), and yes he’s been better than 84 for the playoffs, but if we do a Murray SW based on just the playoffs then we need to do like 15 other playoff threads as well, including some large decreases that GMs are not going to be happy about.
Maybe a playoff-based increase would be fine during the summer when we can do several threads, but only changing 1 player in the entire league based on playoff performance doesn’t make any sense.

85.5 He had 2 SWs already. A 3rd in a 5 month span is way too reactionary. If he keeps it up next season I’ll be down

Murray literally punching the Nuggets a ticket to the Finals tonight. Potentially the most underrated player in the NBA. Fuck your bullshit takes.

To clarify: I never expected a 90, that was just to rustle jimmies, and I didn't expect the regular season to be forgotten, anybody paying attention would've seen me say that in Discord already. What I did think though was that remaining at an 84 would be kind of absurd. I wasn't pissy until I saw the 84s roll in en masse. Those are a joke.

The problem is we have 1 rating system when some players tend to perform differently in the playoffs. I think playoff performance matters but it shouldn't weigh too heavily when regular season, sustained, performance is over the course of an entire season.
I think Murray's sweet spot is an 85-86. He's becoming an 84 regular season and 87-88ish playoff guy, and that's not a totally rare thing. Jimmy Butler looks like a sub-90 regular season player and I actually contemplated a decrease right before the playoffs started. Right now though he's a 95+
TL;DR: 85.7 is my vote

Jamal Murray becomes first player in NBA history to record 10+ assists in first four finals games. Jamal Murray Tonight: 15/3/12 Assists W/No Turnovers. No Player Has Had That Many Assists Without a Turnover in the Finals Since Magic Johnson in 1987 🔥 #NotAn84

Not an 84, but not a 90 either. Ratchet up his passing and shooting.

So I need to put an end to the tears and fill this out properly. 8920 games of Playoff stats (20 games):26.1ppg 5.7rpg 7.1apg on 47/40/93 Regular Season (65 games):20.0ppg 4.0rpg 6.2apg on 45/40/83 - #2 option on the league champions Broke Magic Johnson's record of 3 straight Finals games with 10 assists, with 4 straight games out of the 5 played. The only other players to post 25/5/5 over 50 playoff games: Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Steph Curry, Jerry West, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic These playoffs posted his 4th career 20-point 4th quarter in the playoffs, the most of any player over the last 25 years.

I'm kind of convinced his poor play at the start of this season was still injury related to some extent. Just the recovery / ramp-up process.
I think his full-season numbers are probably 85-86 range? And playoff performance in his case is bumping him up higher. But I also think Playoffs are just weird AF tbh.
I'll go 87 as of now.
