Milwaukee Bucks Trade:
(78) Spencer Hawes - $4,807,050 - $4,997,100 - $5,117,000
Total: $4,807,050
Dallas Mavericks Trade:
(73) Zaza Pachulia - $5,248,750
2014 1st round pick via New Orleans
Total: $5,248,750
I accept. Shed some more salary and gain a 1st round pick in a much deeper draft than the 2013 one will likely be.

I accept. I think New Orleans is a pretty solid team right now and has a good enough core to make me think this pick won't be too high.
Also, I liked having Hawes on my team before, even more so now that I don't have to worry about him jetting after this year.

I don't see why Dallas needs to include NOH's 1st rounder in this deal, but I accept.

I don't see why Dallas needs to include NOH's 1st rounder in this deal, but I accept. I think our reasoning was mainly because Hawes is in our opinion the better player on a relatively cap friend contract for the next couple years. NOH will most likely be in the playoffs and Pachulia is just a throw in for cap purposes. So really it just came down to Hawes for a mid to late first round pick in 2014. We felt it was fair value during negotiations.

A first for a relatively cheap young big entering his prime.
Pachulia's nice, but he's 29 and probably won't ever be worth anything more than a 76. Again, for me, it comes to the way that bird rights are structured here.
