1 on 1 defense is not great but also not a liability. Looks bit too weak to hold on his own one on one against strong guards.
Overall an average defender.

Indiana was expected to be bottom of the league this year.

All in all, Hali is putting up an amazing All-Star (fringe All-NBA) level season, and as one of the most improved players in the game is deserving a big increase in rating.
