Many will look at this and say “why would you give up a player PG’s caliber with a title window?” Well, that’s the thing — this season by most advanced measures and raw output, Luka and AD are 2 of the 10 best players in the League. I can’t afford to wait on PG, who has only played 153 of a possible 328 games the last 4 seasons, to get healthy when I don’t know how long world breaker AD is going to be at this level as a two way havoc wrecker. Add to it Luka’s latest step, and I needed to maximize this window now. 

FVV and Bojan both provide nice shooting upgrades in my starting 5 — which had been a glaring issue last year versus GSW in the WCF and is a clear difference maker in our sim engine — while with the new injury system, adding depth is crucial. Already I’ve got 2/5 starters out due to injury with Herb potentially going that route too, so adding some dart throws on the Upside Wheel in Jalen Smith and Brandon Boston Jr is a plus. Lastly, under our new tradeable Bird Rights rule, I can retain both FVV and Bojan if I want to after the season, or I open up a massive amount of cap space.

We continue to try to build a solid team. We do have to give up some good pieces; Fred VanVleet, Jalen Smith, and BJ Boston.
Fred VanVleet has been a solid point guard. He can distribute and score.
Jalen Smith and BJ Boston are both young and still trying to find their footing in the league.
I also have to give up a 1st rounder, which you never want to do.

However, in return I get a player who can be the leader for my team. George has outstanding defensive skills and is also a capable scorer.
I also get Kyle Anderson who provides valuable depth.
