Was waiting for him to turn a corner but it’s very evident watching him move that the injuries have taken a massive toll — especially defensively — where he can’t keep up anywhere near peak Klay

Guy misses 2 years and has only played 26 games so far, no surprise he isn't playing his best basketball right now.
He's also playing less minutes per game as he works his way back, so his overall numbers will obviously be down. Shooting %'s are down yes, but that is indicative of being rusty/out of NBA playing shape more than anything IMO.
So much for giving a guy some time to come back from injury like we have done in the past I guess.

Since this thread was started a month ago, Klay has steadily improved to almost where he was pre injuries.
Overall numbers this regular season:
20.4 ppg - 3.9 rpg - 2.8 apg - 0.5 spg - 0.5 bpg .429% / .385% / .902% - shooting splits
Overall numbers Playoffs so far:
24.5 ppg - 2.5 rpg - 1.0 apg - 0.5 spg - 0.8 bpg .528% / .500% / .500% (1/2 FT's) - shooting splits
His numbers over his last 10 games since this thread was originally posted:
Overall FG: 109/220 - .495%
3FG: 57/122 - .467%
PPG - 28.3 ppg
Now I know you can't just cherry pick stats, but Klay seems to be steadily getting back to where he has historically always been as he continues to get back into NBA playing shape.
It's disappointing that we will make players "prove it" over a far longer sample size to get a rating increase, but will suggest dropping an 8 year proven veteran, 5 overall rating points, that hasn't played in 2 years over only a 26 game sample size.

Offensively he's creeping up but still not there but what about defense?

Offensively he's creeping up but still not there but what about defense? He’s definitely still an elite shooter, but his defense has dropped off a bit. He’s solid, even good at times, but no where near the best version of himself as a defender, but that could also just be a timing thing.

I think I voted a bit hastily. I'll change my vote.
