Kevin Love has agreed to join the Washington Wizards, signing a 3 year contract worth $27,000,000. The final year is a player option.
Year 1: $9,000,000 Year 2: $9,000,000 Year 3: $9,000,000 (PO)
There was interest from other teams, but the Wizards were the first team to offer Love a contract, tied for the 2nd most money offered by anyone and were the only team who would give Love a real shot at competing for a title while also starting.
Kevin Love is excited to play alongside Kawhi Leonard and finally reunite with his old UCLA teammate, Russell Westbrook. Love's contract will match both stars contracts in years as well as a player option in the last year.
We are excited to pursue a title in Washington, Go Wizards!

Ian Noble, just to clarify a thing. Did I use my MLE here or my remaining cap? So I know if I can sign another player. Thanks. ^^

I used almost all my MLE. ^^

I said you used almost all of the cap space you had, and you never had an MLE, to be fair. But yea. You can basically only sign minimum contracts now

Washington's salaries upon progressing to the 2021/22 season were at $103,428,431. The salary cap for this season is now $112,414,000. This means they were $8,985,569 below the salary cap, which means their signings will use the MLE, Kevin Love is deducted from this amount.

My thinking here is if I can sign someone below the salary cap I can still use my full MLE to sign another. My bad. ^^
