I think, it is time to change the entire Trade Committee. They have done a good job in the past few years even up to this year, but I just feel like the league badly needs fresh eyes to be given the power to decide on trades.
It is time to take off some pressure from the current TCs.

I vehemently oppose this. The current trade committee has done a great job, even though I disagree with them on occasion.
Edit: to expand on this the GMs on the tc are the most trusted GMs in D5. I cannot think of a gm off the trade committee I would trust over a current member.

I think, it is time to change the entire Trade Committee. They have done a good job in the past few years even up to this year, but I just feel like the league badly needs fresh eyes to be given the power to decide on trades. It is time to take off some pressure from the current TCs. While I don't agree that the league needs fresh eyes. Not a ton of trades even get rejected these days, yes it blows when one of your trades doesn't go through especially when you think you're winning the deal (had a few early on myself). I would hazard a PM to the individuals on the committee and ask them if anyone is maybe not having as much time to track stats and shit. I know I got older, live with a girl now and I have less time to spend scouting and stuff like that which is why my voting was a bit reduced last season. Maybe some of those GMs would want to step down or have someone able to make a vote in their stead (with them being able to veto or something). Brian is correct in that those are really the most trusted GMs in D5 to be impartial and also non-colluding they've fucked each other out of deals plenty of times for example and that is and has to be probably the most important part of being on the trade committee. I do think that there are other members that have been around enough and proven themselves to be impartial over the years as well. However, I think the immediate dismissal of the idea by some is a bit premature because there are definitely GMs I'd be OK with being on the TC. I'd love to do it, it seems like a way easier job than when I was trying to help Walt with the ratings (all hail Walt for keeping the league as realistic as can be). It's also probably way easier than being a player agent. I don't think anyone could argue that I'm biased vs any one GM, can't imagine there is a GM in the league who doesn't hate that I've put in a stockwatch to raise or lower their guys at some point. I don't think it needs to be a plea Hana because I think the guys doing it are pretty good at it imo. But I don't think it's automatically a dumb idea.

I do not have a problem with the statements of Jeremiah.
Just to be clear and it is also stated in a way in the main post. I do not have a problem with their overall performance.
It is more about the TC being an "objective" type of responsibility and I think them holding the position that long have manifested them into an area where they are now avoiding making their own individual assessments (there is one of them that I actually think is exempted from this) and just actually relies on this belief that we have almost a complete cast of competent GMs and a "reject" judgment is now a challenge to it.
About BS' statement. Check my signature. They are not what you think they are.
Thanks.

The trade committee of old would probably start scrutinizing things a lot more, but I feel like we've just become a rubber stamp at this point. I think Sacramento is playing with fire though.
- another way of saying what I am trying to say.
