Is there a specific reason this isn't allowed? Like all my rule change posts, I'm sure this will be summarily ignored, but I feel like this is a good idea. We don't require all draft picks to be created. I feel that GMs should be able to sign basically anyone to a contract. If they get serious minutes in the NBA and you want them to play in the sim, then you can make a create a player thread.
What is the rationale behind not allowing this?

I think this makes sense to update as well— if a GM wants to sign a guy who hasn’t yet been built, let them take the risk that he sticks in the League

As long as the player creation thread gets posted right away (or the player counts towards your 15 player limit), then I think it makes sense. What we don't want is for someone to have the rights to 40 random players sitting on their roster.

I think the reason for this rule will have just been that logically a player who is not yet created will not appear on the Free Agents List, so it would make sense for them to be created beforehand.
If we want to switch it then it will mean a bidding process in the Free Agent thread, as opposed to a Player Agent driven bunch of negotiations, and I would suggest that whoever wants to begin bidding on the player posts two threads: 1 to start the Free Agent process, 1 in the stockwatch to have the player created.

I support this change. I think it makes sense that you can bid on non-created player. And once the FA is signed a stockwatch thread is immediately created
