Hello, I am Reggie Miller. Some may know me as somebody else in other leagues. That said, the fact that I have been around means I have considerable knowledge and experience on GM sim leagues and fantasy sports in general.
As you can see with the persona I took, I have been a Pacers fans since 8 in 8.9. This was a time I was looking for a hero as Michael Jordan and Larry Bird have already retired by this point. Then I saw "Miller Time" in a highlights show. Can't recall the exact program I was watching, but considering the timeline, it could be "NBA Action" hosted by Ahmad Rashad. I just "carbon-dated" myself with these references, which should further pad my resume.
To those who don't know, I'm in the opposite time zone of most players/GMs here. I'm not sure if anyone else who is active in this league who is also in the Philippines, but outside of the USA, ours and Lithuania are the only countries who are passionate in the sport as most of you in this forum.
As for the Knicks, this is an interesting dynamic for me. First of all, imagine "Reggie Miller" being the GM of this team. He would be booed out of the building the same way Kristaps was. If you are intrigued how this would play out in a roleplay scenario, I am as well.
I have recently joined another league where I blew up the roster from the get-go. As this league has different dynamics, rules, and in-universe lore and canon, I will roleplay this team differently from how I usually manage teams under my fold.
With New York, I'll try to emulate Billy King's vision for the team instead of imposing my will upon hiring. This is in reverence to the time he spent here. He can be quite temperamental, and this is from the times I saw him interact with others. If this was me, I just try to be more patient and understanding. After all, I am attempting to turn a new leaf myself and try to embrace positivity more rather than be confrontational and antagonistic.
It's sad to see him go as I have played with him before in other leagues, and he's one of the few links I have from those leagues here. I will try to keep his "legacy" (aka his roster and GM philosophy, not his pettiness) intact for as long as it's for the good of the franchise.
What's good with the situation with me coming in is that I have the entire extended offseason to catch up on everything - from learning and understanding the house rules, getting to know the managers, familiarizing myself with my soon-to-be team, and reacquainting myself to present-day NBA.
I am currently in the D5 summer league. So, while the main league is having a downtime, this is an opportunity for me to tick some of the items I enumerated in the previous paragraph.
To end, this me officially campaigning as new New York Knicks GM. To the Academy, for your consideration: Reggie Miller, president for basketball operations, New York Knickerbockers. How does that sound?

And here I thought most people thought my pettiness was my best attribute.

Nice to hear from you. Well, if your philosophy also includes pettiness, I'll see if I can emulate that attitude in my roleplay. I still have it in me, I just try not to unleash it as often. Or since it's my birthday today, I'll try to unleash it never to complete the 180 I am striving for.
Maybe I'll nitpick a ratings watch or two. That should do it.

So far it's Mr Reggie Miller all out by himself, no need for a poll if noone else submits a bid!

I propose that we just get rid of the Knicks. We already have one good team in NYC and everyone on the Knicks is just boring. I’m not sure anyone would even notice if they just stopped playing games. I propose we just give out automatic wins for any matchups versus the Knicks, as that is basically what was happening anyway. We can save ourselves the trouble of finding a new GM, negotiating trades for boring players, waiting for the Knicks to make draft picks, etc. etc. I mean, seriously, are any of you going to offer for... <checks roster page>... Aaron Gordon anyway? I honestly can’t think of anything more boring to do. Let’s just cut the crap and let this franchise fade into oblivion once and for all.

Good luck Reggie! The New York Knicks never fully felt like my own -- it's not the kind of team I'd want to own by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully you can make something out of a pile of shit unlike me!

Hmmm... interesting. And I thought you had something here. How long were you the Knicks GM? I am tempted to do a full reset learning what you said, but as I mentioned above, I already scratched that itch in another sim league, so I'll be roleplaying this differently. Being over the cap this offseason doesn't help, but I'll manage. dynasty5ive.proboards.com/board/40/league-salaries-database - This is updated despite it saying "2018-19 season", right? Because I'm basing team rosters and my team's cap situation there. Ian Noble

Wow it's been incorrect all damn year and nobody pointed it out to me It's fixed now, it's definitely the current rosters, not 2018/19!
