Is Brooklyn better without Kyrie and with John Collins on the bench?

Since Westbrook's rating was changed he has averaged 10 points, 8 assists, 3.6 rebounds on sub 40% shooting, 18% from three on 2.6 attempts per game. IRL since his stockwatch was posted he's averaged 33 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists on 53 FG%, 32% from three on 1.8 attempts per game. He's also back to being a regular if not good FT shooter.

I need to re-review the impact of changing FG rating on point guards in particular. Last time I did, I'm pretty sure it nuked them from orbit, which is why Ben Simmons sucks ass in the sim.

It would be nice to get Walt Frazier to chime in here. The offensive stats that impact scoring appear to be limited to: Aware, FG, 3PT, FT, Inside, & Dunk. From those, I think that we can properly isolate 3PT and FT to their respective areas, and probably likewise for Dunk (and I believe we've previously established that Dunk rating has little effect on scoring). So that leaves us with Aware, FG, and Inside Scoring. What have we decided is the proper description for these stats? Is Aware sort of a BBIQ rating, FG a mid-range rating, and Inside Scr a sort of post-up, lay-up all-encompassing stat? And Aware seems a sort of catch-all, arbitrary type stat. Here's a chart of the top 100 players for FG + Inside Scr. Without Aware, 3Pt, FT, or Dunk, it would seem that these players are the best finishers and mid-range players in the game. For the most part, this actually lines up with how the players are ranked. I've highlighted some outliers, IMO, in red. To the best of my understanding, you've pretty much got it. Dunk - we made the decision to make every player a 60 on dunk. When the decision was made, 60 was close to the average of the dunk rating, and it has zero impact on the Sim. It's purpose was literally "cool dunks in dunk-contest mode" in the game. Inside - Ability to finish at the rim. Layups and dunks and post game finishing, also as a player drives to the hoop, their ability to finish there. I try to look at the FG% of players at the rim using NBA.com advanced shooting tab for this. 3pt - yes, 3pt. I've outlined my rough scale on this before. FT - Same kind of thing. I try to make this exactly match real-life FT%, unless their current season looks like an outlier, I maybe don't give full credit (or discredit) until it's proven for longer. OAWR - From my research, the developers described it as something like - more potent scorers and smarter playmakers would affect TO's, I think, and just generally make a player use his offensive traits better. Another example could be a bad 3pt shooter continuing to shoot a lot from 3 with a low O AWR, but if you raise the Aware, he stops shooting the 3, basically realizing he's not good at it. FG - Supposed to affect the ability to make "regular jumpshots". I try to use their mid-range percentages for this, more or less, but I do know that Ian's prior research has shown it may have a bigger affect than just this. And, many big men have a rating between 55 - 65, which seems to make their in-game FG% about right. For a little while I was nuking their FG and they were shooting really terribly, like, high dunk and Inside but a 30 FG made their FG% be like 20-35%. Just terrible and not close to accurate.

Regarding FG rating: the sim also definitely uses FG as a means to distribute shots between players on a team, so I would argue that high volume but low percentage players should still get a relatively high FG rating.
Also FG is not the only rating the sim uses to distribute shots between players on a team - the "Primacy" rating, which literally changes every game for every player, is also a factor, as well as a player's Overall rating.
FG also affects shot volume for point guards more adversely than other positions, from what I remember the last time I tested it.
Summary: Overall is overall, can't change it. Primacy changes constantly but, from what I can see, actually does a good job reflecting who should be shooting. FG however should factor-in usage and should maybe receive some special treatment when it comes to full time point guards.
Therefore point guards on good teams with low FG get extra screwed (ie. Ben Simmons and Russell Westbrook).
I need to do some more testing so we can properly understand the impact and adjust accordingly.

Since Westbrook's rating was changed he has averaged 10 points, 8 assists, 3.6 rebounds on sub 40% shooting, 18% from three on 2.6 attempts per game. Since I posted this, he's averaged 10 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, on 29% shooting lmao. Total averages post rating-change are 10 points, 7.5 assists, 4.5 rebound, on 34.1% shooting. This mark would be good for 6th worst in D5, behind only Rajon Rondo, Lonzo Ball, Reggie Jackson, and Bruce Brown Jr. He is broken.

Yours is a little more confusing, because TT has the same Aware, FG, and Inside Scr as Jarrett Allen who's shooting 47% (still possibly a little low for a Center, a lot of Centers have a lower FG% than they should). With Westbrook, there's a clear cause and effect. His Inside Scr and FG were decimated by the result of an unwarranted and reactionary stockwatch thread. And, IMO, 34% and trending downward is worse.
