I took Portland with Lowry DeMar and 2 first-round picks. And now we got the Giannis Houston Rockets and the Super starting 5 Orlando Magic. Feels bad man

Hey guys,
I've been an assistant for Brian and the Pelicans since last February (crazy it has already been a year!). During the past year, I've been helping Brian with trades, player evaluations and scouting. I've learned a lot from him and I've learned a lot about the league during this time. You guys have built an awesome community and I've been happy to be a very small part of it.
Some of you may have heard this spiel already but just in case you haven’t...since 2015, I have been an active member in D720. I have made the playoffs three times with my Suns and been to the finals once. I've been a member of the trade committee and player agent boards for a few years, as well as contributing to the league through off-season grades, predictions and jersey swap edits. My team in 720 is built to be competitive but also with a focus on the future.
The Magic are at an interesting point. When I look at their roster I see flexibility. With the cornerstones of the franchise (Oladipo and Gobert) locked up for long-term, I could easily see myself returning the Magic to the playoffs to become a title contender. However, due to injuries and a lack of depth, the Magic are one of the worst teams record-wise in the league. By having all of our own picks going forward, I think securing a top 10 pick this year and rounding out the roster for the following years would be my plan. This would provide us with a nice refresh of the roster, enabling us to once again be competitive during Gobert and Oladipo’s prime. The team is a bit of a project, but isn’t that the fun of this?
Orlando also has a lot of expensive contracts. Finding trades that improve our depth while gaining more mobility under the cap would be important to us. I think my initial trade block would heavily shop Schroeder and possibly Porter. But having these long-term contracts and our own picks going forward takes the pressure off. I don’t have any luming free agents or outstanding picks, which is nice. I think Tom has done a great job of this so far in Houston, and I would hope to execute trades of a similar ilk.
I've been fairly lowkey during my time here, mostly learning and proposing trades. For those that know me and have gotten to know me, you can guarantee that I'm in it for the long haul. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask. I’m excited to be a full member of this league if elected and put my spin on the Orlando Magic.
Thanks, Steve Nash

Hello everyone I will be applying for the magic job! And before someone asks aren't you the kings gm? The answer is yes/ and no. But upon the advice of Ian Noble I will apply for this job and we will go from their. I know most everyone knows me but in case you didn't here's some things about me! I am 38 and live in Atlanta, but I was born in Milwaukee, and lived their till I was 18 so of course I love wisco sports teams! Packers and bucks are kings to me! I've watched 100+ NBA games live going all the way back to watching Jordan and the bulls break, at the time the most wins for a season at the Bradley center against the bucks I was their for the big 3 getting close but never getting over the hump I was their for giannis 1st game. My last live game was last year during the eastern conference finals. Needless to say I've seen alot of basketball games and yes I believe in stats, and analytics but I also believe in the all important eye-test. Awesome fact about me, I played varsity ball in highschool and was pretty decent, anyhow we got to go to a bucks game as a team my junior year and play ball with some of the bucks at the time so I played a little 1v1 with my favorite player big dog Glenn Robinson! He obviously won, but I scored 2 points against him lol. Then when I moved to georgia, he was traded to the hawks which at the time was cool because it felt like a little piece of home came with me, and I got his autograph on his rookie cared twice, once in Milwaukee and again in Atlanta And yes I still have the double autographed card! Priceless to me! I just celebrated my 3rd year anniversary here in d5 as well as d720! In d5 I started by being a assistant to the sun's where I helped Jared get some draft picks and help balance out his team a little! I then moved to the bulls assistant where I helped Shane pick up dame, and some other assets while we made our playoff push, where we ultimately lost to Boston in a heartbreaking 7 game series. I then took the kings assistant job at the beginning of the off-season and with ghazny needing some time away for personal things I have been through osfa, the draft, and helped turn the kings from a team in the 5-8 playoff territory to the 6th best team in d5 this year with a really solid team that will be able to compete for a while! I'm a very active member of d5 that contributes stock watched, articles, trades, etc and I always respond to messages! In d720 3 years ago I took over the timberwolv3s franchise that had never made the playoffs to a team that has made the playoffs every year under my watch and my team is #1 in the western conference this year as we speak! I am also a very active member their as well in any capacity needed! I also am in 3 other dynasty leagues that I have been in for over 5 years even though dynasty is a whole different animal from sim it shows that I am very committed to my teams, and leagues! I am aware I have made some mistakes in the hiring process before, mistakes that will NOT be made this time! As far as the magic are concerned, they are in a weird spot with some studs, as well as some over priced low end starters making to much, and not a very great bench. So imo with the rough start and injuries hindering the magic this season, and all their draft picks I think the best thing for them is to just stay the course the rest of this season unless a deal comes up that's just to good to refuse as I see no reason to trade players with assets attached to them this season. I hope everyone got to know me a little better, and I thank the league for my consideration and hope all my contributions to d5 and time I've put in will be taken into consideration and I look forward to being in the league for it's entirety Thank you Amare

Ian Noble so are candidates still allowed to post trades? No, the process is not about that any more, and as we saw from previous applications the process was flawed when GMs posted trades, undercut each other and sold low of their players etc. Applicants are here to show "engagement, activity, knowledge" as outlined in the original post, so this process will favour GMs who have already been here like Steve and Amare above, and quite rightly I believe it should favour them.

reading the applications, i am voting for 1 expansion team this offseason! This is actually an interesting concept, as looming for the IRL NBA is the saber rattling in some corners to revive the Sonics due to a new arena being built replacing the old Key Arena in Seattle (plus the market itself is one of the country’s 10 richest), and the League’s interest in Las Vegas (with the T Mobile arena where the NHL’s Knights play at the moment) due to the population explosion there. Throw in places like Raleigh-Durham (exploding population with an arena and big time basketball following), Nashville, and even Pittsburgh all positioning themselves as relocation options, you have the recipe for at least one, if not two, teams to be added in the 2020s. It wouldn’t be out of line to add two teams (I do think such expansion would have to be one team each conference) and use something like Seattle (due to what I assume is a ready made template in the Live engine for them) and then an Eastern conference team to vote on by the GMs. The one tricky item to me would be the expansion draft player pool, as some teams with lots of depth could be disproportionately targeted over teams with bad rosters.

I want to repeat my earlier recommendation of Steve Nash.
He's been an excellent assistant gm. Truthfully he's been more of a co-gm than assistant. Every move I make, even trade proposal I send out I run by him first. I value his opinion very highly.
My team has improved exponentially in the last year or so. Right when Steve joined us. That's not a coincidence. Steve would make an excellent gm.
The Orlando magic would be very lucky to have a gm as talented, dedicated and knowledgeable as Steve Nash

I don't think NBA live 06 allows custom teams. The Sonic's are used right now for the thunder.

If the NBA expands I have no idea how I will make that happen in the sim I do think it's crazy that, for top flight professional basketballers, there's only 30 teams with roughly 15 slots each = 450 players. European football on the other hand has multiple elite leagues with literally hundreds of teams and manages to be thoroughly entertaining (and highly paid) right down to the lower leagues, there's space for thousands and thousands of career footballers and the top flight teams are heavily invested in youth academies and promoting talent at every stage.

I would like to recommend my assistant Amare Staudomire to be the new GM of Orlando Magic, what he did to our team Sacramento Kings is a enough for his resumé, he might be candidate for EOTY. Please consider him as a strong candidate to handle ORL

You're doing a really good job with the Kings. 2nd seed in the West, could even pull off a Finald appearance this year - sorry you missed out here again, but you are doing really well with Sacramento
