Current = 77 Suggested = 68
Don't think he should be a plus when he is spreading diseases in China. If he comes back, I will put thread up for an increase. Just my personal opinion.

Have we ever decreased someone who willingly decided to play overseas before? i.e. its not that he couldn't get an NBA job, but he just chose not to? It seems to me like there's no basis for any ratings decrease

Why should you get a benefit from a guy that isn't in the current NBA? We have no control over injuries and no control over a situation like this.

We’ve got several guys who fit this situation currently on rosters— Mirotic is the biggest one, but also Casspi going home to Israel, Mozgov going back to Russia, and Lin in China— but its only Lin getting dinged. If we go with this approach, Mirotic, Moz, and Casspi should all get tanked too

Salaries should have been put on hold and call it what it is. Mozgov hasn't played in the nba for years. It's rather dumb.

What's with the disease comment ? He plays in China, where the disease started and spreading. If you think this was a racist comment, it wasn't meant to be, so stop trying to drum up drama.

Well Moz was IN the League up until April 2019 before the Magic cut him, but he hadn’t played in over 18 months due to a knee condition

It's not their fault that there's an entire other market that removes them from D5 eligibility.

Not sure why we went they way we did, but whatever.

Not trying to drum up drama but he's one of the people donating and trying to help combat it, was just off-putting

Maybe if the Chinese government gave a fuck about their people it wouldn't be such a big deal.

Bump
I would say to vote primarily on whether you think Lin ended as a 77 or some other rating. He left the league at the start of 2019 to voluntarily play in China. His stats in 2018-19 were (two teams):
ATL - 19:40 mpg - 46.6/33.3/84.5 - 10.7p, 2.3r, 3.5a, 0.7s, 0.1b, 1.9TO TOR - 18:51 mpg - 37.4/20.0/81.0 - 7.0p, 2.6r, 2.2a, 0.4s, 0.3b, 1.1TO
Thanks.

THREAD CLOSED
Lower to a 74. I'm kind of just deciding myself tbh. There were only like 2 real ratings here. Throw a fit if you want to. Fact is, he's not impacting the NBA so we should really lower him at least some IMO.
