Current Rating: 76 Suggested Rating: 82 Stats through 41 Games: 17.5 PPG/7.1 APG/3.5 RPG/1.1 SPG/0.3 BPG/3.3 TO 48.8% FG/39.1% 3P/79.4% FT -Putting up a pretty sweet shooting line despite being leaned on so heavily (26.1% USG). -Sees the court real well, already #12 in both Assists and Assist Rate (35.3% just behind Westbrook and Graham). -Shooting surprisingly well from 3, currently at 39%. But he's only taking about 2 3s a game so he probably doesn't deserve an elite rating yet. -Not a great defender, but he does get about a steal per game. Has issues both with his frame and ball watching. -If it matters, his handle is insane and he's an above average athlete. -Grizzlies are currently 23-24 and the 8th seed as of this writing. It's not all Ja, but he's been a major part of the turnaround. JJJ, JoVal and Clarke all probably deserve some love as well. Easiest comparison would probably be De'Aaron Fox, trading in defense for better vision and a better 3P%. He's posting a similar line - 10% lower 3P, but less of a revolving door on D. Fox is currently an 81, but that was a boost pretty early in his career - he also probably deserves a little boost as well. bkref.com/tiny/hmMg4

80 — I like Morant a lot, but selfishly I can’t rate him above SGA who I think is a similar player if he was on the ball as much as Ja has been in Memphis

SGA touches the ball a ton. Ja total touches: 74 Ja front court touches: 28 Ja USG%: 26.1 SGA total touches: 62 SGA front court touches: 33 SGA USG%: 24. NBA StatsTBH they're not that different in terms of output either. Ja is playing like 5 fewer minutes and getting way more assists with a higher TS%, but advanced stats paint him as a weaker defender and he gets less points per touch.

Hmmm interesting— watching Thunder games it feels like SGA has way more of a wait for Schroeder/CP3 to distribute the ball, then make his move vs. Ja has the ball all the time, but can’t argue the numbers.

I was just familiar with SGA's surprisingly high usage and touches because I traded for CP3 in a fantasy league.

Lol they are a good watch with all that action and weird lineups, but with a legendary, pound the ball till it’s dust PG in the Point God, I’m impressed SGA has that high of a usage rate. Schroeder too has been a ball pounder when watching games
