More an overdue boost than true improvement. He had a similar season 2 years ago, but injuries the following year made it pretty hard to ask for a boost. Now, he's managed to stay healthy and depending on who you ask, could be the 2nd or 3rd best player on the Nuggets this season.
Offensively, he's performing like he did two years ago before the injury issues - PPG,APG and shooting splits all close to his career highs(15.7 PPG/4.1 APG/45.2 FG/37 3P). He's also taking care of the ball well this season, with a TOV% of 9.2 - It's the lowest of his career, and is currently the 24th lowest rate among Guards and Forwards who qualify for the MPG leaderboard.
Defensively is where he's surprised this year. His raw numbers aren't particularly flashy, but he's been very effective all season. He's gone from having the Nuggets' worst defensive rating last year to currently #24 on Defensive RPM.
His percentages aren't particularly sexy, but I think his overall contributions and lack of any major negatives are enough that he belongs with the other 2nd/3rd option wings in rating.
