so this means ill have the Bird rights of Harden? thanks! No, because your trade doesn't work, salaries-wise, until salaries progress to next season and Harden has only two years left on his deal. so can i just throw in the contracts for it to balance?

This might be a bit preemptive but just want to get an official ruling from Ian Noble on whether I have Kyrie’s bird rights or not. This trade was posted and processed in June 2019 before salaries progressed, but was posted with 2020 salaries. However, I do remember asking Ian at the time if I would have BRs on Kyrie based on this and he confirmed that I would. I’d have to dig through messages to find that conversation, but just want to get a ruling here that I can point back to next summer if I am in a situation of needing to claim BRs on Kyrie. Yeah this trade passed before salaries progressed, so officially Kyrie had 3 years left on his deal when that happened (so long as he accepts his final year PO) and you have Bird Rights when his contract expires. Clarifying: actually if you're using 2019/20's salaries to make this trade, then you DON'T have Bird Rights. Did this trade get queued until after salaries progressed? I don't see any evidence here either way, but given the original post is using this year's salaries it does make that conclusion uncertain.

I had the cap space to absorb him, I’m not sure why it was posted with 2020 salaries. The only potential queuing was for that draft pick as James Kay pointed out but that also would have been before salaries progressed.

This probably was because you could only trade your pick after making the selection, unless you traded your 2020 1st this year. Only explanation I can see.
