2019 Mia 2nd Round 2020 Mia 2nd Round 2021 Sas 2nd Round 2022 Mia 2nd Round 2022 Lac 2nd Round Total Salary Outgoing: $28,220,350 × 1.25 = $35,275,437 Portland Accepts Shaquille O'Neal to Concur This one is really tough! I love Demar's game and killer instinct and i wouldnt move him unless it was a deal to help this team gear towards the future and start replenishing the draft capital lost along the way! Even though it will hurt to lose a player of demar's caliber we feel were gaining some nice young players in barnes and huerter (who im personally super high on and think he's going to be excellent for years to come) Along with 5 draft picks although 2nds thats 5 more than the blazers have currently! Great dealings Shaquille O'Neal and i hope i get the job so this can go through!

I really thought hard and consulted a lot of experts in this deal as i don't really want to trade Barnes because he is having a great year in Sacramento and Kevin Huerter as the future of Atlanta Hawks (next Klay). But having a great SG/SF in return to win now is a good trade for me.
It will really hurt my spacing as Derozan doesnt shoot 3s this season but we will deal with that later.
Having Noah in my team is a great addition as he is a former DPOY. I accept.

Well I support you declining the trade. But Troy said it is a good deal? What's wrong with this?

I think this deal heavily favors the Heat, I'm afraid to say.
DeRozan is not a franchise player but he's pretty damn close. Harrison Barnes and a bunch of second rounders does not equal DeRozan in terms of value. If the time was taken I feel sure Amare could've got more for DeRozan.

Dont forget about getting Huerter as well hes a good looking rookie that was a 1st last year I talked to several people Ian Noble and no one would come close to this! The way i see it barnes all though not as good as derozan is younger and fills in his spot, then on top we get k.huerter who looks awesome and 5 2nds This team needs to stay competitive while also gathering young players and draft picks to help to rebuild while staying competitive! I thought it was a great deal for the blazers in the direction i would take them!

I think some team would’ve offered more than Miami— yes it’s a lot of draft picks, but the quality of draft picks isn’t there, and the Harrison Barnes contract is an awful one. I’d expect that one team would be willing to offer a future 1st in 2021 or beyond plus some better contracts than this deal. This trade basically is Barnes + Huerter for Demar, and that frankly is a big win for Miami and doesn’t help Portland much

So your telling me if i was like
5 2nds 18 1st 19 overall which huerter is well worth! And harrison barnes for demar in the sad state the blazers are in and just keep the staus quo and keep being a lottery team while you hand over your picks and watch kyle and demar get another year older while not starting to build this team back up some kind of way? I disagree

I disagree To be fair DeMar is 29 and his contract will run until he is 32 on a team that is well known for preserving players careers and longevity. And this year he has played 3 different positions and see experiments at the PG position next to him while being on a completely new system.

I get it, i love demar hes great but it seemed like the right move to take the players in the direction i would want to take them and start infusing young talent with decent pieces Barnes is overpaid but can play and Huerter looks great imo and 5 2nds can help you draft, work your way up a draft board, or use in a different trade to help upgrade! I liked the deal and still think its fine so i will be eager to see what my fellow candidates do and maybe they find a better deal but maybe not!

Feel the same way as Ian. I was pretty afraid this posted trade would hurt the potential market for DeMar as I was trying to negotiate with teams as well. Never would I do this trade.

Kind of feel like Barnes on this contract is maybe a slight negative overall. He's a useful player but he's being paid like a team's top 2 player, probably. And if he's that, your team is in trouble.
I like Huerter but him and the 2nds don't come close to DeRozan.
I reject

So what's the deal with Portland? Is it being decided who will get the team soon?
As for this trade, I think I'd reject it. D5 is filled with examples of new GMs immediately trading away their best players for bad value. Having more patience would likely get a much better deal for DeRozan. I get the weird situation these Portland guys are in though, it's like an audition kind of environment and that probably puts pressure on them to do something to show their thoughts or some kind of plan. It just seems like a situation that incentivizes rushed decisions.

Im going to admit i made too quick of a descion! I should have waited it out a little but at the time i thought i was making a good decision but i admit i jumped the gun way too soon! Now that i have had time to look at the trade its not enough and i feel terrible but ill live with my mistake! I just hope people at least see i was trying to restock the draft picks and i admit maybe i value Huerter a little higher than most!
