Hey we haven't had a politics thread in a while. Who wants to argue until we hate each other?
While Bernie would be great, I'm not sure he'll win the nomination. He and Elizabeth Warren will split some voters, and I think some other people have some more widespread appeal like Kamala Harris or Cory Booker. Litterally any of them will be a million times better than Trump though.

I think Kamala, Cory and the other corporate democrats split more votes than Bernie and Warren. I think Bernie or Warren drop out to pool votes if they have to.

I don't know a lot about America culture or how they see politics, but I like that they elected the guy who played Donald Trump in Home Alone 2 and that is a WWE Hall of Famer. At least he is a good actor, so if he things go bad he'll just fool everyone. Also the guy is very funny on Twitter, did he had a stand up career as well? Would appreciate if anyone has any clips of it.
But does this mean that the Rock is next? Does he get to keep his name or do they start calling him Dwayne Johnson? Donald Trump got to keep his so I guess you'll have future USA president The Rock.
He gonna Rock Bottom North Korea all at once.

Thank you sir. The problem we have in the US is that there are clearly two sides, and a growing third side, and two of those sides can’t respect each other. Will ultimately lead to our downfall. Just like every great nation in history there is strong possibility for failure.

Being SO deep in debt, I don’t guess I understand how a presidential candidate can offer so many free items without sending the people of the nation into tax h€££. I’d gladly go back to school for free, if given the chance, though.

We need term limits in Congress so that the elected officials start doing their jobs again instead of sitting around for decades getting rich. With term limits maybe they’ll start thinking of the American public again. This fits on both sides of the aisle.

This fits on both sides of the aisle. ^This I’ve yet to hear any of the gaggle of candidates speak about two massive problems: complacent politicians with no urgency to govern due to lack of term limits (to your point), and getting the deficit closer to balance the budget. We spend like a teenage girl with their parents credit card at the mall on a Saturday

I think taking care of the first would drastically help with the second. I may be wrong, but I think Cruz was pushing for term limits.
Love your analogy. Was reading something where it said Rep will only cut Dem stuff while they’re in control and vice versa.

Or just stop voting for awful politicians
Amazon paid 0% in taxes last year while the small businesses and owners they are crushing paid way more
Seems like America needs another corporate tax cut! We need more big bonuses to executives while their workers get government program handouts

Being SO deep in debt, I don’t guess I understand how a presidential candidate can offer so many free items without sending the people of the nation into tax h€££. I’d gladly go back to school for free, if given the chance, though. The national debt doesn't really matter though. The US has been in debt your entire life, and your parents entire life, and your grandparents entire life, and so on. Can you come up with any ways the national debt has had a direct negative impact on your life? If anything the debt has only helped you. Think of buying a house, the only way to buy a house is to go into a huge amount of debt, does that mean you should never do it since debt is bad? No of course not, buying a house is one of the best ways to create any long term wealth for yourself. At the end of paying off your mortgage you have a huge asset and in a way better place then had you not bought the house. Education, healthcare, infrastructure, etc. are all investments that create long term prosperity for a country. So like buying a house, it's perfectly acceptable to go into debt to fund those things. That's not to argue that we should just create money all willy nilly and we can all be millionaires, debt still needs to be managed but debt to GDP ratio is way more important than the total debt amount. You probably don't even need to raise taxes to fund all those things either, you just need to close loopholes and stop tax avoidance. You already pay your taxes, so you're fine. Why don't rich corporations pay their taxes? Why do billionaires do everything they can do hoard wealth and hide money offshore? That is what's making inequality worse, they cut funding for all the shit that makes your life better so they can be a billionaire +1 instead of just a regular billionaire. This level of prosperity already existed in America too, the rich and elite just dismantled the system for their own benefit. Go back to the economic policies of the 50s, 60s and 70s and that's how you'll make America great again.
