Accepted by the Spurs. Danny Green is the type of hardworking, blue collar veteran we want around our young players, and his combination of sharpshooting (42% from 3 last year) and perimeter defense make him an ideal candidate in our 6th man role for our team. While his contract is quite steep, as a rebuilding team getting two picks tacked onto the best player in a two team deal lessens the blow, especially since we have no picks in 2021 and 2022 is potentially the “double draft” where both the 2021 one and done group will be in the same draft as 2022 HS Seniors, making it a potentially rich draft talent wise. Additionally, Green’s contract is just for three years, which still set us up to enter the 2021 offseason with at least $56 MM expiring between Green and Derrick Rose. We also will have a projected $13 to $20 MM in cap room for next offseason. Lastly, we do not feel adding Green to our roster will inhibit our ability to land a high lottery pick for next years draft when there are several wing types who could be strong two way players to step into a starting role or the 6th man spot from Day 1.

Clippers accept.
Simply a cost cutting move due to hard cap implications.

I like George's explanation. Acknowledging he has the Rose albatross anyway so Green for the same length contract just kind of makes sense.
Good for both.
