Memphis proposal of:
77 Andre Iguodala $12,945,788 (2018) 2019 MEM 1st round pick
FOR
84 Tyreke Evans $12,203,755 (2018); $12,000,000 (2019)
ACCEPTED by the Spurs. This trade fits our overall strategy of shedding salary and acquiring picks, as right now I have none in 2019. Evans would also not be resigned by our squad in the 2020 offseason, so this maximizes an asset for us now before he is an expiring deal.

Wow this is surprising. Does this mean Jeremiah is bowing out of the Giannis sweepstakes?

This move is about immediate and future flexibility. Tyreke Evans played point guard for OKC last season and they made the playoffs even through injuries, he also plays SF. This means that this off-season I open up flexibility at the PG and SF spot to make offers if I choose to. It also offers me additional flexibility in terms of cap room. Regardless of whether I sign a SF or a PG this off-season my 2nd "signing" being Evans is only 12 million on one year.
Overall I think this deal will help our team in this year's playoffs, during off-season FA and next season moving forward.

I accept
After this deal the Grizz will have $18m in space this off season, which wont get you a Giannis but it's decent.
edit: I guess if Jeremiah doesn't pick up Ilyasova's TO then that's $26m.

A little weird considering Giannis leaving is a forgone conclusion, but good trade for both teams

A little weird considering Giannis leaving is a forgone conclusion, but good trade for both teams I don't see how that's even remotely true.

Not a big fan of this for the Spurs, Tyreke Evans is his best value contract imo, though I guess his trade value is hurt by him not having Bird rights available for whoever gets him. It also makes sense given a new GM coming in and wanting to dump the massive contracts on the team's roster, you have to start somewhere.
I'll accept this.

I kinda thought he was getting the shit end of the stick at first. But when I asked about his other offers he basically just said people were kicking the tires but nothing else. Out of the playoff teams who would want him, only Boston to my knowledge even had the ability to trade a pick either this year or next, But Boston is gonna have to offer Ingles big money to keep him so idk if he wants to do that. Minny potentially could have offered Jae Crowder and a pick or 2nd. Probably wouldn't have been the worst idea. But Jae's in a GREAT team atmosphere now and judging by his playoffs will probably be back up to where he was by mid season. Cleveland wants to resign Porter. Although given Holiday entering the spotlight these playoffs, that player option looks like less of a guarantee to be accepted by Jrue. IDK. I felt like I had a better offer than anyone else, cap relief and a 1st albeit maybe next season 20-30 guaranteed. And lets be honest, what is he really doing with Tyreke anyways? Hell he might try and use my pick to get one of those terrible contracts off his team.
