Hey guys, during last season & the start of this season (until about a month or two ago?), I was really killing some of the Centers / bigs / etc who really don't "shoot" in their FG rating. We've found (through Josh Barber's study partially) that this was a mistake. At least, to the extent I did it, it was too extreme. These are the players I've found who look to have been effected most severely. Please let me know if there are any you think qualify that I missed.
I'll be posting new threads for these players if I think they might need it, generally. otherwise, I may just go in and try to "fix" their FG w/o messing with much else (probably as of now, take from their Dunk Rating as much as makes sense, and any other super minor fixes that look like they may have occurred since their last thread/change). This is just about fixing their FG ratings so they stop performing rather uncharacteristically in our game. It's about balancing. Just b/c their FG is really low doesn't necessarily mean they don't deserve it to be that low, but I want to take a look at their stats. Keeping track of my targets to investigate in this post, basically.
Andre Drummond (FG @ 17)
Clint Capela (FG @ 17)
Jakob Poeltl (FG @ 40)
Mason Plumlee (FG @ 39)
Hassan Whiteside? (FG @ 54)
Willie Reed? (FG @ 45) Salah Mejri (FG @ 25) John Collins (FG @ 45) Pascal Siakam (FG @ 47) Jordan Bell (FG @ 28) Bismack Biyombo (FG @ 31) Andrew Bogut (FG @ 32) Festus Ezeli (FG @ 48) Tiago Splitter (FG @ 45)
Jusuf Nurkic (FG @ 42)
Joakim Noah (FG @ 25) JaVale McGee (FG @ 25) Lucas Nogueira (FG @ 24) Ben Simmons (FG @ 49)

Nice one thanks Walt! Drummond at 17FG definitely might explain why he's been subpar.

FWIW, there was a time when we mainly looked at fg% to figure out FG ratings. I believe original NBA Live was doing that to some extent as well. So a guy like Tyson Chandler might have been in the 80s or 90s for FG.
Just want to put it in perspective. Whatever we end up with here is still going to be a vast and marked improvement, at least in theory...
AND, if we end up going higher on FG for some of these players than I'm originally thinking, it will be with good reason and will not be out of line with how this game/sim operates.

Maybe Simmons 49FG would be worth a look too? He's still not scoring particularly well.

If we're just suggested our own players feel free to look at Ibaka's 41 FG%, my guy is shooting 50% on jump shots 3ft - <3P.

Looking at his ratings, which he's had for 3.5 months of the sim, I have no idea actually. He's an 81 FG, 87 3pt, 70s or 80s on Inside...oaware is an 81 or 82 I think. Dunno man :/

Working on this now. Those that I crossed out in original post have already been changed since the time of this post first going up. The rest are just going to get re-worked, keeping same OVR rating.
