Allow me to introduce... the 2017 New Orleans Pelicans!
Starting at center, it's Thon Maker Age Faker! This human-stick is averaging 4.4 points, and the name of the game is efficiency, as Thon is converting at a blistering 32% clip. Clocking in at PF, it's Juan Hernangomez, who, indisputably, has spent 21.8mpg on the court! Juan is something of a sharp-shooter on this squad (WALT CHECK THIS GUYS RATINGS), seeing as his white-hot 40.3 FG% shooting is actually higher than his real-life FG% of 39%! At small forward, we have the hidden gem of the group, this absolute unit - Darius Miller! You may be saying, who?? But this beast is fresh back from a two year sabbatical with a German basketball team, and has taken D5 by storm. Dropping a hefty 20.3 points per game, this 68 rated player is leading the Pelicans in points, rebounds, and blocks. As the lights dim, prepare yourself for the spectacular entrance of the star of the whole show, its Rodney McGruder! This player is averaging nearly 5 whole points IRL, and prides himself on being just barely the highest rated player on this team. Check the steals numbers folks, he's 3rd in the league. Oh, you want leadership? He's got that, too. This won't show up on our leaderboards, but Rodney leads the entire league in turnovers. Finally, the point guard, the man who makes it all come together, its Fred VanVleet! If you thought the rest of the starting line up was obscure, you haven't met anonymity yet. In his second year in the league, the mention of this man's name in any normal conversation will result in immediate embarrassment as you try to explain why you know who this 24 year old Canadian is.
This league doesn't have many players under 70, so give it up for the Pelicans, who are composed of almost entirely sub-70 players. They have not gotten enough recognition for trotting out which is potentially the absolute worst roster in the entire history of D5. The Jazz, Wizards, Hawks, and Suns have never put out a product like this. I'm in awe.

Finally a graph which quantifies just how bad Jokic is at defending

Finally a graph which quantifies just how bad Jokic is at defending Not to mention this is only "at the rim". I'm curious to see if he is equally bad, if not worse, away from the rim.

Finally a graph which quantifies just how bad Jokic is at defending He's not a rim protector and he plays good team defense. Can't be amazing at literally everything. Joel Embiid turns the ball over too much and only shoots 30% from 3 and 46% overall and is outplayed by Ben Simmons who's a rookie.

So much for Simmon's 90 rating.

So much for Simmon's 90 rating. Embiid is elite on offense and is even better on defense. Jokic and Towns are good on only offense. If Embiid is a 90 currently, shouldn't Jokic and Towns be dropped to at least 85? Half of their game is missing! And if Simmons is better than Embiid - does that mean he should be 95? #shotsFiredBack

Time to update the OP with a little season-ending fun fact:
There have been 281 Rookies to take 50+ FT and 100+3P in a game. Lonzo is 281st in FT%.
But wait... there is good news!
He's only 231st in 3p%!

Ian Noble also lets not forget that Tom Thibodeau is a GARBAGE coach, he's pegged as some defensive genius but I'd even expect SOME improvement out of Wiggins if that were true. His strategy was signing a bunch of Bulls retreads. Lets look at some young player's development since Thibs took over. Wiggins: After at least improving his offense his first two years. Thibs takes and after a year of development this year Wiggins managed to fall off a cliff offensively and kinda just stay meh on defense. Towns: Managed to be worse defensively in his first year under Thibs, if he's such a great defensive schemer wouldn't you expect his defense to get better just based on being in a better system? This season he improved his shooting and passing I think that was kinda just gonna happen, and his defense managed to return to rookie year levels, yay! Teague: Last year with ATL defensive rating (lower is better): 104, his pit stop in IND 110, his first year in MIN, 112! Bjelica: Fixed his efficiency issues, no discernible defensive change from his level of not that good, I'll admit he's an offensive bench guy though. Tyus: He's a midget with weak defensive prospects anyways, but still no change in his defense and basically just figured out how to convert at the next level. Gibson: He was a 104 Drtg his last full season in Chicago with Thibs. He's at a 112 Drtg again with Thibs. SOLets recap, literally every player has stayed the same or gotten worse defensively under Tommy Thibs. In fact the Minnesota Timberwolves team defensive rating went from 28th ranked under coach Sam Mitchell ALL THE WAY UP to 27th. I ask the question Why is Tom Thibodeau considered a good coach???The answer is simple, from 2010-2014 Joakim Noah was one of the best defensive players and one of the smartest players in the league. Hell even Jimmy Butler got worse this season, 110 defensive rating compared to 106 under Hoidberg.

Tyus Jones has unquestionably improved. His stats, efficiency and per minute numbers are all up. Also he's not a midget lol. He's 6 foot 2! That's taller than CP3, Kemba, Bledsoe, etc...

"He plays good team defense" is what you say when the person is a bad defender. Nuggets 23rd in DRTG as a team. He has the best DRtg on the team and the highest DBPM on his team. He's the best defender on the Nuggets by a mile. The fact that they are 23rd is actually kind of a miracle. He's never gonna be Dwight Howard but he's 22 and really smart and has amazing hands. If he had a decent weakside guy their whole team would be much better. www.basketball-reference.com/teams/DEN/2018.htmlwww.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIN/2018.htmlActually looking into it, the same can be said for Towns. I think the issue is coaching and other personnel. Neither of them are holy shit defenders but Towns at least as a prospect profiled as one, the problem is shit coaching imo. Plus both are young and at least statistically aren't as bad as their teams suggest.

Eric Bledsoe last two games:
9 Points 4-12 FG 4 assists 5 TOs
12 points 5-13 FG 4 assits 1 TO -3 +/-
And if you've been watching his defense has been horrendous, he doesn't even try half the time.
Bonus Jabari Parker:
2 points 1-5 FG 1 assist 4 rebounds -14 +/-
0 points 0-2 FG 0 assist 2 rebounds -15 +/-
His defense has been as bad if not worse than Bledsoe's
