So what's everybody thinking after the first few games of the NCAA season? Who's caught your interest?
Markelle Fultz looks dominant so far. I've also been really impressed with Jonathan Isaac, Lauri Markkenen and Lonzo Ball. This class looks like it could be really good in the lottery, not sure about it's depth though.

Hartenstein has looked really good in the minutes he has played for Zalgris, I think he is almost a towns-like player, but am not sure if he will be able to play the 5 in the NBA, which would make him less valuable than towns. I am also very impressed with Fultz, but expected nothing less. I'm dissapointed with all the injuries some of the top prospects have gotten. I've been pretty hyped on Ball and am glad it'd been paying off, but I'm always a sucker for the UCLA prospects, they just always play super huge guys at point guard haha. Markkenen is someone I've had my eye on for awhile as well, I think if you have pick 8-9 and he is still on the board, it would be insane not to take him. The top 6-7 are just so loaded though, where do you take him? Better yet, where do you take Giles at this point? Also, interesting new study came out showing the chance of an nba prospect existing in various areas of the world, here's the map.

Does anyone still think Lonzo Ball is worth drafting over the likes of Fultz and Jackson? Watch this Ball weaknesses video by scouts.

I seem to remember a map of just the USA representing the same stats and the chances of an NBA player coming from the Deep South was extremely high compared to elsewhere. That might be the legacy of slavery though and the fact more black people come from those areas though? Does anyone know why black people are so damn good at basketball?

That might be the legacy of slavery though and the fact more black people come from those areas though? Does anyone know why black people are so damn good at basketball? I'm no anthropologist, but from what I understand I think slavery is actually a factor. Breeding slaves was a real thing, and I don't know how much slaves were bred specifically to be strong and athletic but even if they weren't, surviving the trip from Africa and the brutal conditions they lived and worked in was a very Darwinian kind of life. The strongest slaves who were in the best shape would obviously be the ones to survive and have kids more so than the weaker ones. Poverty is also a factor too. Poor and lower class people grow up with little to no options to escape their situation. Escaping the poverty trap in black neighbourhoods sometimes requires becoming a pro athlete or rapper. As unlikely as it is, trying to win that lottery in life is something you're more likely to work towards when all the other normal life options don't exist for you like they do for middle and upper class kids. Black people are disproportionately affected by poverty. So genetics via slavery and sociology via poverty are the explanations I've heard of. Hard to know how true it is, but it makes a lot of sense.

Its red in Europe because the dream team went over and had sex with everybody. Its no wonder a bunch of beautiful multiracial 6'8" guys are coming out of Europe 20 years later.

I'm surprised Miles Bridges decided to stay at Michigan State, he's obviously got an NBA ready level of physicality.

I think he made the right move though, as good as he was I don't see him going higher than 7-8. Next year? He's a top 5 pick in my opinion so far. Porter Doncic Ayton bridges sexton is my way way too early top 5

I don't know. Jaylen Brown was super shitty last year. He's gotten wayyyy better since last year, I still don't like him for the NBA (as a top 3 pick), but at this point I'd rather have him than Winslow because of the floor. Though their chance to go from elite defender (+ great passer in winslows case) and inefficient scorer to kawhi leonard still seems about the same to me.

There's about 3 centers I'd take before him but he interests me outside of the lottery for sure.
