Back in 2012 the old Raptors GM made this trade: New Orleans Hornets receive:79 DeMar DeRozan $2,625,000 $3,344,250 $4,531,459 79 Mike Conley $6,611,571 $7,305,786 $8,000,001 $8,694,216 $9,388,426 2012 Toronto First Rounder (#2 - Damian Lillard) Toronto Raptors receive:81 Eric Gordon $3,831,184 - $5,137,617 77 Jarrett Jack $5,000,000 $5,400,000 Frankly I'm thrilled that I at least had this in my input on the deal: "I think the Hornets get the better deal but I like this trade for both teams."

Oh man, that sucks. To be fair, though, if Eric Gordon stays healthy he is good. But damn... that pick.

I don't understand what he is going to do with all those guys... maybe thats why he hates the idea of a hard cap. He's gonna have 12 guys with BR that are all 1st round picks lol.

Of all the trades listed here, I think Ian's trade is less of a robbery than the others. The others were grand larceny.
I'm sure, that in a few years, I'll have some trades up here where I'm getting reemed. But that's what happens when belief turns to despair.

I care a great deal about making the right call on the trade committee. I mean, this league is basically built on GMs ability to read the future based on what they see now.
I'm sure there's a bunch of times I've called it wrong on trades, but on those two trades that built Alex's Nuggets I'm proud to say I was on target:
1. "I'm surprised NOH wants to do this considering Harden's just as good as Iggy but 5 years younger..."
2. "In my opinion Paul George is Danny Granger 2.0. Also Granger is injured and George will finally get his minutes and no doubt begin to excel.
I reject."
With regards to the original post in this thread, I do remember there was a time when I observed Demar Derozan as no more than super-athletic, not particularly skilled, and Mike Conley as a guy who rode on the success of Greg Oden's college days, lol.

" Brooklyn Nets 59 Hassan Whiteside 2,500,000 2,500,000 2,500,000 2,500,000 2016 DEN 2nd
Utah Jazz 77 MKG $2,541,600 $3,227,832 $4,328,523 "

Brooklyn got shafted! you sure are on that whiteside dick huh? Me, personally, I think he is thriving in an offense that has longed for a capable big. I believe that his numbers are inflated because of the system and I think he is a flash in the pan type player. But I'm just a dude playing another dude on the internet.

Me, personally, I think a big trade to look back on will be the Len for LJC deal Alex and I did that I was crucified for. But, I'm sticking with my gut. LJC is Boris Diaw 2.0 and Len will be an oft-injured big. Hopefully, it turns out good for the both of us.

Pacers receive: Boston 2012 1st Rounder (#27 Fab Melo) Milwaukee 2012 1st Rounder (#1 Anthony Davis) The Pacers would've received Anthony fucking Davis. How you feel about this Larry Bird ?

The lawless days before we all realized how valuable Bird Rights were. Shaking my damn head.
I know I hemmed and hawed about the Denver Paul George trade, but couldn't find enough of a reason to say reject personally. I did say I hated it for Orlando at least twice.
Alex's Harden trade really became a whole different story when Harden was traded IRL.
Also I just gotta say, Barbers words from the Paul George trade go something like this (paraphrasing) - Paul George Sucks, I Accept.

2013 2nd (Nets)
2014 2nd (Pacers)
Total: $25,359,243Kings Get:

C/PF Chris "Birdman" Andersen 78 $4,526,000/$4,818,000
SF Al Thornton 70 $490,198/1
Contract of Dexter Pittman: $854,389/1

Celtics receive:Cleveland 2013 1st (5th Pick) Toronto 2013 1st (2nd Pick) 75 - Byron Mullens - $3,293,976 71 - Austin Daye - $4,135,391 Total - $7,429,367 Cavaliers receive:87 - Kevin Garnett - $11,532,468 - $12,000,000 89 - Paul Pierce - $15,334,334 Total - $26,866,802 Projected cap space during Free Agency - $21,397,262 Thus begins my rebuild, before I've even left the Playoffs. I want to begin my rebuild and what better way than two of the top five picks this year? I targeted Cleveland as a destination for these two Hall of Famers because I knew it would help them lure not just an expiring Andrew Bynum back to the Cavaliers this off season, but probably also at least one other top player in the FA crop since this trade still leaves them with $21m in cap space. KG and PP are going to be championship contenders this year in Brooklyn, in real life, and I don't foresee their stock dropping for some time yet as a result. Trading Paul Pierce was sacrilege for me a month ago, but since then he's been dealt to the Nets and it doesn't seem so bad that he retires whilst playing for a different team, he'll have his jersey retired and he will live in Celtic folklore forever, and so will Kevin Garnett. I will write more tomorrow, me and Dan have been exchanging a couple of messages and it's very late here. This trade still make my stomach sick. How can Dan do this to me!!
