Pick timings:
Top 5 picks have 2 days to make their pick.
1st Rounders have 12 hours.
2nd Rounders are allotted 6 hour slots when the Round begins.
Until the real NBA Draft begins there is no time limit on picks but only the Top 10 rookies may be picked.
Contracts and Eligibility:
- 1st Rounders are automatically signed to their team.
- 2nd Rounders must be signed in the Rookie Section threads provided.
- The draft rights of 1st Rounders who do not instantly play in the NBA are held by their team for up to 3 years until the player does join an NBA team. The salaries are not paid until the player joins the NBA.
- The draft rights of 2nd Rounders who do not instantly play in the NBA must be secured by signing them in the provided threads. The salaries are not paid until the player joins the NBA.
- The rights to undrafted rookies who declared for the draft can also be claimed as picks throughout the Rookie Draft. An undrafted rookie will remain as "draft rights held" status on your team's roster for up to 3 years until they play in the NBA. Undrafted 1st Rounders and 2nd Rounders contracts follows the same logic as above.
- If a draftee withdraws from the draft, and has been picked here at D5 before the real NBA Draft, that pick will need to be chosen again, but choice is limited to those players who have not yet been picked (Note: Draftees from the NCAA have an earlier withdraw deadline than international draftees).
Miscellaneous:
- If you miss your pick:
In the Top 5 - a random pick will be made for you up to 2 spots further down from where your team is picking.
6 to 25 - up to 5 spots further down.
25 to 60 - pick will be forfeit. - Always submit draft boards to Ian Noble if you're worried about missing your pick.
