I just feel like I have to congratulate Miami on this trade, I think it was a work of genius. Firstly I'm very, very glad that Miami has not broken up their big 3. I think they're currently favourites to win the championship as it is, at the top of the standings, because they're so dominant and I love to see that trio stick together. Mostly though their trade with Dallas instantly, in one brilliant swoop, reinforced their two weakest positions with solid players that not only make them stronger but even fit their team direction perfectly. Jason Kidd is obviously an ageing veteran who will use this last year of his deal to push the Heat towards a championship. Brendan Haywood too is just a great improvement as a natural Center who will do the job down low and allow the big 3 more freedom, plus his salary is locked up until the exact year the big 3 come off the books for Miami. Dallas got what he wanted too, but Miami's addressing of so many needs in one trade really impressed me My favourite trade so far. Nice trade guys.

I don't know about it. Obviously, the trade instantly improves Heat chances of winning this season but in terms of value, they lost that trade.
Since Heat has one of the 2 teams with most value in the league (Thunder being the other), losing some value might not be such a bad thing. At the end, it is all about winning or losing the championship.
I think the deal is perfect for Heat if they are looking to make no more trades this season.
Another move Heat could have done was to trade Chalmers and more for a good center and then, offer the MLE to Aaron Brooks. I probably would have offered for Marcus Camby that is a substitue to the Gasol brothers in Houston, Okafor or Chandler.
