Sometimes I just wake up with some crazy ideas that I wanted to share. One day, my mind formed a game about hot takes. Do I need to define hot takes? So, here is the deal. I am hoping to boost the Media Center with this game. First, the mechanics. 1. Give three hot takes. All hot takes should be measurable. It could be awards, statistics, even injuries, even trades, playoffs and etc. Example: Paul George will be the MVP (Approved). Paul George will be the best player in the league (Reject).
2. For you to be eligible to get an entry, you need to make a D5-related article with at least 150 words. The deadline for the article will be March 1, 2020.
3. For your entry to be approved, it should get at least 4 likes. The entry will be rejected if it gets 5 dislikes. Why? Deciding that an opinion is an hot take is a subjective thing.
4. Scoring: 1 point for every hot take that will happen in the season. If tied, the earlier entry will win.
5. Prize: #61 pick for the upcoming draft. Ian Noble will this be a big deal? Personally, I do not think it is that much of a big deal in comparison to the added entertainment /realism value that the #2 and #5 of the mechanics will bring.
6. Penalty: Those who will not get any hot take right will need to write a D5-related article with at least 150 words.

I'm all up for this, but probably would not do 5. 61st pick in the Draft - partly because at the old D5 (way back in 2008) I introduced a system which rewarded GMs with minor in-game bonuses if they submitted articles because (A) it decreased participation in D5PN and (B) it decreased league-wide activity and interest by damaging realism!
Nevertheless it's a good idea you could run as a competition anyway, just maybe one without an in-game prize, no matter how small.

1. The Atlanta Hawks will win less than 29 games (decrease from last year, Vegas odds at 33.5) 2. The Miami Heat will finish with a better record than the Philadelphia 76ers 3. The Warriors will win the West

Let us start this thing then!
By the way, non-GMs are more than welcome to participate.
1. Phoenix will be top 10 in the West. 2. Zion will not win ROY. 3. Morey will not be fired.

- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will make the De’Aaron Fox Year 2 leap and average at least 17 ppg and 6 apg on 48/37/80 lines
- The Suns and their idiotic owner will panic overpay for an aging veteran in a desperate attempt to go from “bad team” to “mediocre team”
- RJ Barrett will be groomed to be the Knicks PG, not SG, of the future.

1 - Kawhi Leonard ties or beats his record of 74 games in a season. 2 - Warriors don't make the playoffs. 3 - Spurs get homecourt advantage in the first round.

Though I do like the San Antonio pick; Pops chance at Kawhi Round 2, perhaps?

I know it’s late but I had my 3 before the season just forgot to post. 1. Luka goes all-NBA 2nd team or better 2. Markelle Fultz averages 15+ ppg 3 Rockets win the NBA Finals(this isn’t too hot of a take) 4. Since my 3rd one isn’t really that hot of a take I’ll go with Clippers don’t win a playoff series

Hit rate: - SGA’s actual line for the year: 19/6/3.3 on 51/35/81 shooting. I wasn’t that far off except for APG (3.3) on his Year 2 line!
- The Suns for a hot minute looked like they were going to deal for someone, then stayed put.
- Barrett had too confounding of a rookie year to determine what the Knicks tried to do with him. You could argue he was a PG given how much he dominated the ball, but with a really poor group around him he suffered mightily.
