New York Knicks Open! The New York Knicks are looking for a new GM! Previous GMs: Spike Lee and Billy King never got the Knicks off the ground. You have up to one month to show the Hiring Committee you're up to the job of leading the Knicks!
What are we looking for before we appoint you? Engagement and Activity
Someone who can show they will be an active member of Dynasty Five for a long time, to make the Knicks their own and build a great dynasty and to understand that it will be a job that will take many years! We want someone who wants to become part of the semi-roleplaying atmosphere of being a real NBA GM here at D5, who gets involved in rating players, day-to-day discussion and even posts media centre articles such as rankings, jersey switches, analytics, scouting reports or stories.
Knowledge
The Knicks roster is in transition: a mix of highly paid journeyman veterans (Hassan Whiteside, Ricky Rubio) and promising youth (Aaron Gordon, Buddy Hield) plus ownership of all their own draft picks means that this roster could go either way - rebuild via the Draft or target Free Agents - or both! It's a good place to be and the league's most valuable franchise is crying out for some success.
Dennis Smith Jr forms part of the Knicks young core. How to Apply ***Reply to this thread to introduce yourself***
Explain your experience with NBA basketball, which team you support, where you live etc. Possibly explain your plans for the Knicks if you were to take over as GM. If you don't have a GM name already, choose a name that's not been taken already Keep active as outlined above
Also have a read of What is Dynasty Five? After the Hiring Committee has seen enough we will meet to decide who gets hired for the job! note: even if you miss out on this team, showing you're a committed, hard working GM will put you first in line for any future team openings and ahead of everyone else on the waiting list.

Hello league! I'm sure most of you know me from my 2+ years in the league as a observer and than assistant to the sun's,bulls, and currently kings! I have always been active even in down times and like to think I've come along way in my time here. I'm not going to spend a whole lot of time boring everyone with facts they probably already know about me but I Will say I think I would be great for this job for several reason! 1) the Newyork Knicks are my 2nd favorite team after the Milwaukee bucks irl! 2) my real life name is Nick lol 3) my role play name amare stoudemire fits in beautiful here 4) I will never give up on my team or try improving them 5) I feel I've been a kick ass assistant for the teams that have gave me that opportunity 6)I'm ready to lead a team, and what better time than before osfa! 7) I've been active even through are hiatus this summer 8) I've helped improve every team I've been assistant on 9)I was a finalist to the Blazer job only losing out to the great Jerry west!
Ghanzy has given me a great opportunity to have more reign with the kings this year bc of family obligations but will be back eventually, and I would really like the opportunity to be the commander of my own team and put to use all the knowledge I've learned from the vet GM's here and show I truly belong as my own man! I hope the committee really considers me, and I think I can do great things as the Knicks new and forever gm! Thanks Amare stoudemire

As far as what I would do with the franchise, their in a great spot imo to see how they grow this year. They have some nice young players mixed with some vets that with the right free agent pick up or possible trade could be a playoff team that can maybe make some noise or they could try to go completely young and look for a semi rebuild! They also have all their draft picks which definitely helps the team to trend in the right direction so imo they are in prime position to have a wait and see direction to begin the year, and if things don't go great be sellers at the deadline and look to add young players, and draft picks to their younger core while sending vets like Whiteside to a championship contender. If they gel together than we see about adding a piece or 2 to the team and see what kind of noise they can make! Once again thanks for the consideration Amare

Embarassing this happened during the dead season with no notice that I was to be fired. With no clear deadlines on TOs and bird rights, free agency hasn't even started yet (which would be the logical deadline).

Amare StoudemireThis is my mistake. I think it's understandable that Billy King wasn't sure whether to pick up Team Options and Bird Rights and for that reason I'm going to return the Knicks to him and reinstate him to the job. Please accept my apologies for the false hope that there might be a team open!
