So here's my explanation for the deal: First off this deal requested by the man Larry Bird himself before he left (hoping he comes back soon). I made a twist tho, the deal Larry told me he wanted to be done involved trading DJ Augustin and Tony Allen for IT and Jerome Robinson. I made a slight change due to the fact that IT, despite only averaging around 8 points per game in 14 minutes, still has solid value for us since he is an expiring deal and will give us some cap relief along Luol Deng and Aminu next year so we aren't so close to the hard cap, or even has a trade piece for another team who needs to dump salary. Anyway let's talk Galo, it's no secret that I'm a Clippers fan and love him to death, but he doesn't match our window of contention and the Pacers organization is more than happy to find him a place with Wolves with a great GM and a chance to go far in the playoffs and who knows maybe even make the finals. The Pacers will always thank him for what he did for this team including being an All-Star last year in D5. D.J., on the other hand, had a short term stint with the Pacers after being acquired in the trade that sent Rondo to the Bulls. He was never part of our plans and had no spot in the rotation being blocked by IT and Lin, now he gets to be the backup PG on a contending team, so we like to think he is also taking a step further in his career. Now what we're getting on return. Thaddeus Young is the better player we're getting back, despite that, to be honest, he is only here to match salaries since his window is about the same as Galo, but right now he'll have a chance to be part of the best bench in the league alongside Lin, Bojan (who is averaging 22 PPG in the NBA since Oladipo went down), Aminu, Young and Val. Plus his contract will get off the books a year earlier than Galo's. Prince is 24 years old and gets overshadowed by Trae, Huerter and Collins in Atlanta, despite that he is finishing his 3rd year in the NBA with 13 PPG on almost 40% shooting from 3 while being a solid defensive player, we are hoping he turns into a player like prime DeMarre Carroll. Zubac his also in his 3rd year in the NBA and having a breakout year, we hope that with him, Allen and Portis we can be set on our frontcourt rotation for the future and focus on scouting wings and guards to join them. The first pick despite being a late one on a Top-Heavy draft his always a nice add-on despite having to send Minnesota their own 2nd Round pick back, but still, that's 30 spots we are moving up and we are hoping to find a gem with it. So to sum up, we got younger and got cap flexibility with our only big contract in 20-21 being Val who is only 26 years old and averaging 20 and 10 with 1.5 blocks since joining the Grizzlies. Prince is a prototypical 3 and D player for the modern NBA and Zubac is a solid Center who offers good value in short minutes, essentially giving us a return of 3 First round picks for Galo. It was a pleasure dealing with Walt Frazier and I truly hope Galo can help him reach the promised land because we will be rooting for it.

I'm not looking forward to Jerry getting his own team. Based on this deal I'd have to say he'd be a major player.
Great trade for both teams. Also *flips off* Walt.

Pulled the Josh Barber move. Rating increase/decrease right before/after a trade.

In all seriousness, I know I don't actually have to explain my side but we all seem to enjoy it so here it goes. I'm doubling down on my move from a couple of years ago where I got Blake Griffin. I've already sacrificed some younger pieces with remaining upside, and I know I'm doing it again here. But this team's window is now. I'd rather go for broke, and then rebuild later, instead of floating around knowing that my team is simply not in the upper echelon. Granted, the Nuggets especially look amazing. but going along with my last paragraph, what is the point in going through the entire season knowing that what I have is not good enough to beat them? This is a monster upgrade to my starting lineup and getting Augustin actually improves one area of my bench. Losing Thad does diminish a different area of my bench, but I have much more small forward and power forward depth so I think I can take that hit pretty easily with players like Taj Gibson and Wilson Chandler.
I still have some youth remaining, but I have set this team up to win so why not go for the whole thing as much as I can?
Good luck to Jerry and Larry in the future. I know Larry propose something very similar to this before he left and I know both of them talk or at least did talk while Larry was around. I really think this is a good deal for both teams and their immediate and long-term futures. I also am incredibly averse to trading first-round picks, but since I have a very good feel for where this pic will fall and what the talent will generally be I felt comfortable enough dealing it to push the deal over the top.

Hurry up and lower your stock watch ratings before it closes. Believe it or not I actually believe Galo is one of the most underrated players in the league and if we are taking both efficiency and volume into account he is a Top 10 offensive player in the league. He's on a team who will at least win 48 games while starting 3 guys under 23, and he is the main reason for it. Was also the best player in Denver's best years before Jokic with George Karl. Still believe he is better than Harris should at least be a point higher.

Needs at least three votes from others on the TC in addition to you and Walt before it’s considered “passed”

Danilo still getting disrespected in this thread. Let's go show 'em, Gallo!
FTR, I think the best future piece I give up here is probably Zubac, but maybe I'm too sour on Prince. Obviously the 1st is a wildcard but in this draft I'm not convinced it's a HUGE downgrade from my 1st to my 2nd.
