That 2022 1st may end up being the best thing in this trade if that year is the double draft

Always kinda concerns me when I see a team trading away it's last available draft pick and for such a meagre haul.

I accept. I need depth at Forward position. Since I lost at OFA I reaaly dont have enough depth to compliment Lowry and demar.

Larry has been absolutely killing it with trades the last 6 months. This is another great, forward looking move. Kudos to you Mr. Bird

I feel like it's quite clear Indiana wins this deal but I accept, it's not terrible and it doesn't ruin any teams. Who knows maybe Lowry and DeRozan by themselves will lift Portland late into the Playoffs, who needs draft picks?!

It's basically impossible to judge the value of that pick. Lowry and DeRozan are under contract through the 2021-22 season, so hypothetically Portland could maintain a core of players and that pick wouldn't be very high. Really though, odds are this team will be completely different by then because most D5 teams don't stay together that long. Presumably not having that pick affects the planning though and the team wouldn't go full tank, so I guess I accept. These moves are always just a gamble though and the high upside favours Indiana, so good trade Larry Bird
