What is your favorite word? What is your least favorite word? What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? What turns you off? What is your favorite curse word? What sound or noise do you love? What sound or noise do you hate? What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? What profession would you not like to do? If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

Kindly ask this. What is an NBA simulation league? This is quite a weird question Hana - I don't know whether D5 is a sim league or what...

Nice job, that was good. Again, having the central point of discussion was way better than the group chats imo.
Also, I know it's a nerdy ass reference lol, but all those questions are from Inside the Actors Studio. At the end of every interview James Lipton asks all his guests those same questions. Josh interviewing Ian this time for some reason made me think of the one where Dave Chappelle interviewed Lipton.
Also, also, if you want to change the name of these podcasts to Inside the General Manager's Studio, your welcome... no guys, don't all thank me at once... it's no problem...

who's suppose to be up next? I might do another one next weekend. It would be nice if I could not be involved for once though actually. It's nice to just listen and learn.

Really interesting discussion on the hard cap. I think I fall on Josh's side that it won't do much to increase parity but I'll be excited to see what happens

Really interesting discussion on the hard cap. I think I fall on Josh's side that it won't do much to increase parity but I'll be excited to see what happens We put in the hard cap in order to increase parity right? So as far as I'm concerned we should just keep lowering it until we get the effect we want. If 150% doesn't look like it will work well enough, then we should lower it to 140% the next year, if it still doesn't work then 130%, and so on. Ian Noble started it years ago gradually reducing it every year, so nobody that's paying attention can act surprised. I'm happy it's going to finally start affecting teams. I look forward to when the super teams get broken up. It will only help D5 to have 8-10 truly competitive teams instead of the 3-5 we have now.

Reducing lower than 150% might be an option but I'd like to see what happens once we hit 150% this coming off season. Certainly we can already see that a team as stacked as Chicago can be created even with a 150% Hard Cap and not even be penalised, but the effects of the Hard Cap might be more subtle than that and therefore more effective, there might be implications we can't predict until we experience them, so maybe give it a year or two. edit: unrelated but I can't believe I thought a 200% Hard Cap would have any effect at all! (for those that don't know: that was going to be the lowest planned Hard Cap level, but it's obviously a stupidly high amount)

Appreciate the work Ian.
I have a question, are you sure no harm is being done to the team of the injured players when you put them to the free-agency when they get injured?

Appreciate the work Ian. I have a question, are you sure no harm is being done to the team of the injured players when you put them to the free-agency when they get injured? Good question Hana! The one thing I thought might change would be the player's 'Primacy' rating, but that doesn't change and neither does any of the other player ratings whilst they're in the free agency group.
