Can someone help me understand what's going on with the salary here? Cedi signed an extension in April with a starting salary of $8.5m going for 4 total years. I'm assuming that first year is for 2018-2019 and should be reflected in this trade, which it is not He was a free agent and was signed in April. He wasn't drafted. You can't sign extensions in this league.

Okay fine, semantics. He was a free agent who signed in April. His first year is for $8.5m and in this trade they left off that first year. What am I missing?

Once Free Agency opened (which is when our seasons roll over), that 8.5 million was done and gone. All trades posted after that use 2018-19 salaries. That 8.5 million was a 2017-18 salary, signed during the 2017-18 season.

Ah, okay. So when he signed in April that $8.5m was for like one month. I assumed that deal was apart of the off-season, and the first year was his 2018-2019 salary
