NOP trades: 82 Andrew Wiggins $6,311,936$8,205,516
BKN trades: 78 Rodney Hood $2,125,046 $3,030,316 Washington 2019 1st Dallas 2020 1st
I accept. I love Andrew, I follow all his social media, I want to marry his dog Cassie and I've been generally obsessed with him the last 2 years, watching as many twolves games as I can. That said I'm not prepared to offer him a max in 2 yes which he will rightfully demand.
I'm a big fan of hood and hopefully the picks will be somewhat high, helping me get further along in my rebuild.
I fully understand that in a couple years I may regret this trade but it seems like a risk worth taking at this time.

I think Josh may be losing this trade. A lot of people would think that Wiggins should be further along in his development right now, and a lot of people feel that Thibs will do nothing but stunt his growth. I am in those camps.
Hood is a much better 3 Pt shooter and while not as athletic as Wiggins, Wiggins's athleticism isn't helping him do anything but dunk.
Plus Scal gets what should be 2 lotto's
If Scal's reasoning behind this is that Wiggins will command a max contract and he does not want to pay the max for him, Hood will command the max as well. There's too much cap space right now where any guy coming off a rookie deal that is above average won't command a max contract.

Damn I wasn't able to give enough for Wiggins, and I doubt I would be able to beat that offer by Josh, so well done Mr Barber for getting him! It's a shame to see Wiggins go to a fellow Atlantic Division team.
I'm in the camp that thinks Wiggins is severely underrated right now. This is a great buy low/sell high trade for the Nets imho, but it's not like Scal's getting junk in return, both those picks are lottery barring a miracle.
I accept.

Alright so, here we go. I'm currently in week 2 of 3 of a eurotrip right now, so I will start out by saying that I do have some anxiety that I haven't given this trade the proper thought it deserves. That being said, I also will acknowledge right off the bat that Brian absolutely beats me in the value department in this trade. Wiggins' value is down and those picks are worth a lot. If you want to judge this solely on ins and outs, Brian comes out ahead.
However, I am in a position right now where I have a ton of assets and have been looking for ways to consolidate. I'm not high on Hood (he did lose his starting job to a rookie and he is also already 25 for anyone who cares). To compare Hood and Wiggins in development as CB has posted is silly because Hood is much older than Wiggins. When Brian messaged me with the outline of this deal, I knew I was going to have to pay to make it work, and I am comfortable with what I am giving up.
Wiggins fits my timeline with LaVine and Booker, and gives me a daunting 1-2-3 punch. Honestly I am super excited to add another piece to my puzzle. I know his stats are down, but Wiggins is still young and I think he will really benefit from being on a playoff team. I like how he fits with LaVine and Booker and I feel like my team would be really exciting to watch in real life. I spend a lot of time thinking about my team and it's so exciting to finally make a trade for another "core" player. I'll gladly pay him the max in two summers.
. Further, I keep my big men prospects (Sabonis, WCS, and Adebayo) and can still keep my fingers crossed that one of them becomes an all star. I still own all my own picks as well, and I still have other assets I can look to deal. So, in summary, yes Brian wins this trade on value but it was just one of those deals I couldn't pass up. Welcome to the squad, Wiggins!

I'll accept. I am not sold that either side is winning (or losing, I guess), so it's fairly even to me all things considered. I get how Josh feels. On a similar scale, I felt I maybe gave a little much when I traded for Blake Griffin (from Josh, coincidentally), but to get another core player, and upper level player, you gotta bend values a bit.
